Cam and Vera are so passionate about their Quinta and are willing to share the joy with you. I did the 'not so serious retreat with wine and yoga' and went there alone. The food, wine, accommodation, activities; it was all great. I felt very welcome and taken care of. Also the people/ travelers that were there with me (all strong, independent and openminded woman of all ages) made my retreat even better. Namasté🙏🏻

Nature abounds! Great place to decompress and enjoy nature and hiking. The food and wine were amazing. Vera is the consummate hostess. Every detail was perfectly executed. The food, wine and service were top notch. And bonus, Quinta Camarena is walking distance to town. Highly recommend.

The accommodation was clean and perfectly located for hiking at Rota Vicentina or relaxing in the nature. Cam and Vera (the hosts) and Diogo (local supporter) organized everything well. Check-in, the phone number for a local taxi driver and a personalized breakfast with e.g. cookies, omelette, cereals, bread and much more from local producers. I can definetly recommend this accommodation.

You MUST visit Quinta Camarena! As a retreat host, I have taken many groups to retreat venues around the world and this quaint little countryside oasis is a piece of heaven. Vera was a very attentive host and worked tirelessly not only during the retreat itself, but supported me in planning the perfect experience for my specific attendees for months prior to our arrival. I had a sold out group of yogis that enjoyed the outdoor yoga shala as well as indoor yoga in the gym. Vera organized several excursions for us that truly allowed my guests to feel deeply immersed in the culture and connect to the land and people of the town. The highlight of the trip was the delicious organic farm fresh meals and the various chefs that created masterpieces night after night. Quinta Camarena is truly a business based off a labor of love and this is felt through every detail of the stay. I will definitely be back and will bring more groups here!

A beautiful place in the middle of a beautiful nature. Vera and Cam have thought through everything and you can easily feel the love, fun and hard work they’ve put into it. I did the not so serious yoga retreat and it was chill and inclusive as I hoped. It was also over nye and we got treated to a really nice little nye party. Food was delicious and they can easily arrange food intolerances and different diets (I’m vegetarian). Also loved that they really try and work with independent local farmers and artisans.

I'd always feared a yoga retreat would be too earnest and the food restricted to quinoa and avocado. The 'Not so serious' yoga retreat was the perfect alternative: optional group activities when I wanted friendly company, a box full of books and a pool to sit by when I didn't, very varied tasty food & wine, and super cute cats & dogs to play with. I really liked the way Vera & Cam showcase and support other local businesses, and they were so helpful in organising a last minute taxi to the resort after my flight was delayed, and kindly saved me some dinner. The yoga is gentle enough for beginners but I learnt some new tips from Amari. I'm glad I stayed on for a few days - there's beautiful countryside walks nearby, use of mats for extra yoga classes and the 'Loft' room was a great option for extra living space and making some of my own meals.

Community, sustainability, flavor, adventure, and relaxation! This trip had it all! I booked via another company for a yoga/hiking/SUP retreat over 5 days/4 nights.

I was fortunate to partake in yoga for all abilities, SUP along the Mira, fun walks along the coast and around the city of Cercal, wine tasting, and a delicious culinary experience. With a focus on sustainability, you can experience the flavors and diversity of products that come from Alentejo. The property is so well thought out, allowing for guests to find comfort and relaxation wherever they go. As a solo traveler, I loved having a sense of community that Quinta Camarena fosters.

I can't recommend a stay with Quinta Camarena enough; Vera and Cam have so much dedication, passion, and love that they pour into everything they do here! There's also a couple of cute pups and kittens on the property, so all the more reason to stay!

Quinta Camarena is countyside perfection. And Vera and her crew were top notch hosts. The food was locally sourced and beautifully served. The rooms and common areas beautiful, cozy and welcoming. It’s a uniquely Portuguese experience I highly recommend.

If I could give them 10 stars I would - fabulous people who made our experiences a priority. Vera, the proprietor, helped to arrange a variety of activities along with the daily yoga, which activities included horseback riding, guided hike along the beautiful Fisherman’s Trail, beach lunch, winery tour, and more. The hotel operates mindful of its impact, providing sustainable and locally sourced products when possible. The food, the people and the experience were just amazing and I can’t wait to go again!

We stayed at Quinta Camarena for the not so serious wine and yoga retreat and it was pure bliss! The rooms were clean and spacious and the grounds were beautiful and quiet. Vera and Cam were kind and hospitable - as were all the other guests on the retreat. The programme was the perfect balance of activity and down time so we left feeling well rested and energised (even after all the wine). Cam and Vera gave great local recommendations. Special mention to the restaurant we were taken to on the second night - I had the best octopus of my entire life there!

Absolute perfection.

Vera and Cam are the most amazing hosts. The ‘Not so serious yoga retreat’ is planned to pure perfection with the right amount of activities vs free time. A mix of yoga, hiking, beach, wine and exploring the local culture. The food was INCREDIBLE and so well thought out - everything is locally sourced or grown on their own land.

The hotel is gorgeous, rooms are to die for and the pool area is amazing but my personal highlight is the yoga deck in the forest!

10/10 yoga retreat - can’t wait to come back 💛

We hosted our first retreat at Quinta Camarena. Vera and Cam made us feel at home every moment with their hospitality and kindness. The location in nature is amazing. No words for the food, an experience you have to taste yourself. We will return💜

Quinta Camarena is a gem in Alentejo! We went for a long weekend and felt like we never wanted to leave this place. Vera and Cam are wonderful hosts; they go above and beyond to make your experience the best possible, and that makes all the difference! We stayed in the Mae room, which was very spacious and comfortable. The flat had a fully operational kitchen, and Vera and Cam were kind enough to leave us some coffee and basic cooking ingredients. The highlight of our stay was the food! Breakfast was amazing, made with the freshest locally sourced ingredients. They grow fruits and vegetables on the property and create the most delicious dishes with them. We had the best pancakes ever! Additionally, we had the opportunity to book dinner for one night, and the food was just incredible. We had such a wonderful time and will definitely be coming back!

Qunita Camarena is a truly magical place. Vera and Cam are such great and relaxed hosts, who know exactly what the guests need. They have created an oasis of relaxation, in the middle of a small cozy native village in Portugal. The food is a 10/10!,everything here is regional, fresh healthy and prepared with much love and an eye in sustainability. Everything on the property and in the rooms is coherent and the love for the local and the little details continues.
The Yoga and Wine retreat offers the perfect opportunity to come together in a group, practice yoga together (best yoga teacher I met so far!) and eat together but also have the right amount of time out for yourself. Thank you for the great stay. I will not forget this precious holiday.

Just back from a few days and I feel so refreshed and energized that it feels like I was away for much longer than I really was. Brilliant mix of activities on offer, from yoga to some stunning hikes, and SUP, and there was a perfect balance of activities and downtime. The accommodation was really cool, super comfortable and very peaceful, and the food was a highlight too - everything locally sourced and every meal had its own story. The hosts know their area really well and the trip felt very rooted in authentic Alentejo.

I wanted a yoga holiday as a solo traveller that had some structure but was flexible, relaxing, no fuss and no spiritual ‘woo woo’ and Cam and Vera have this absolutely nailed.

The hillside rooms are super stylish and luxurious with huge comfy bed, air con and stunning views.

The food is incredible - photos don’t do it justice; wholesome, nourishing, DELICIOUS and cooked with love and local sustainability. It’s not all seeds and leaves though, there were plenty of naughty treats in the form of freshly baked cakes and beautiful local wines.

The yoga teacher was brilliant at accommodating all levels and kept the focus on the yoga moves and didn’t mess about with chakras etc. The gentle breeze carries the scent of pine trees and the sounds of cow bells and birdsong into the yoga chalet which was a divine start to the day (also thankfully never too early!).

The itinerary they laid on was great for picking and choosing based on my mood. One day I felt up for joining the coastal hike and other days I planted myself firmly by the pool or in a hammock with a book.

Cam and Vera are delightful hosts who think of everything and make you feel like an old friend. They work with brilliant local partners (that massage was insanely good) and have really mastered the low stress holiday haven. Cute cats and dogs too!

'Not so serious yoga and wine retreat', but seriously good!

When you take the first step on Quinta Camarena, you are welcomed as a family member.
Vera and Cam are super nice, very attentive and give great recommendations on what to do and where to go in the area.
The best detail (that made the cut for me personally) was that they cook and serve organic and locally sourced food (and of course wine) as well as homegrown veggies. I have never seen that big of a zucchini!
Yoga sessions and trips, e.g. to a market, lake, beach and the fantastic local artisans are fun, as you see the diversity of Portugal.
If you want to explore beautiful nature, savor delicious food and meet great people, that's the place to go!
Definitely worth a visit.. or two.. or three.. :)

Had a wonderful stay at Quinta Camerena on the 5 day yoga and wine retreat. Vera, Cam and the team were perfect hosts, really welcoming and friendly. The yoga was excellent for people of all abilities and it was so serene to do it in the forest surrounded by the sounds of nature. The room was very comfortable, I was in one of the newer hillside rooms and it was ideal for switching off. Food was delicious and varied every day, and hearing all about regenerative agriculture techniques used at the winery on the tour was a real highlight. I really can’t recommend this place enough, my only regret is that I was there for the 5 day retreat not for for 7 days. Thank you again for having me!

Just returned from 4 nights at Qunita Camarena as part of the SLB Activation fitness retreat. I stayed in one of the new Hillside Cuartos; it was airy and spacious with lots of natural light and a private balcony. The Hillside Cuartos are a short uphill walk from the Camtina area, down a pine needle covered path past The Ground. Vera was a lovely hostess and her passion for the land is evident. From the fresh fruit from native fruit trees served at breakfast to the local textiles in the rooms, you immediately feel immersed in the local area. As part of our itinerary, we enjoyed a traditional tapas dinner at 100 Pressas in Cercal, a tasting at the Herdade do Cebolal winery, and a beach workout day in Vila Nova de Milfontes. Our dinners at Camtina featured rotating local chefs including Cafe Nativa, Chef Ann, and Chef Rafael. Each delicious meal was plant based and satisfying and the chefs explained the local ingredients and products. Caring hosts, peaceful surroundings, environmental mindfulness, endless activities, and nourishing meals were the perfect recipe for a reset – I’d return to Quinta Camarena in a heartbeat!
