A Lanterna

Seven of us had a delicious dinner. Wonderful seafood, great wines. But the 'afters' made this restaurant stand out. One of our party left his spectacles behind. To his delight the staff visited the local hotels to try and find the owner of the spectacles. After a search they located our party's hotel late in the evening. Thanks!

This was by far our favorite restaurant in Portugal. We had the best meal and best service here. They speak great English and welcomed us. The steak on the spit had great grilled flavor and the sea bass, clams and shrimp was cooked with fresh tomatoes, onions and green peppers it was absolutely delicious.

We had a very enjoyable evening at this Cozy restaurant. Wonderful food, wine, desert. Just a great small family owned place

Had a lovely meal here. Cataplana with sea bass was generous and well cooked. Wine selection was good and well priced. Relaxed and hospitable atmosphere.

This is our first time having cataplanas and it was fantastic. A whole lobster in there with other seafood! And our server was extremely attentive and friendly.

We had an amazing meal here and cannot recommend it enough! Much better than the seafront restaurants. The food was delicious. We ordered double desert because they were just so tasty. The staff were A+ Great fun! We will definitely be back!

We went 2 times in a row ! The owner is clearly taking care of his guests. We had to wait a few minutes outside, but he gave us a glass of Porto to ease the pain:). Waiters always smiling and helpful. Food is obviously fresh and the wine superb. Not so many tables, but worthwhile the wait !

Great seafood restaurant. We enjoyed everything: excellent food, the atmosphere and the attitude of the staff. This is the first time we’ve tried cataplanas and the dish is delicious. We highly recommend it: you’ll be happy and full and the taste is exquisite.
We’d like to say special thanks to the chef Ludmila. She helped us choose dishes and cooked fantastic seafood that we’ll remember for a long time.
The restaurant is not a tourist hot spot and you feel like you came for a dinner to your friends’ or relatives’ place. The owner greeted us, chatted with us and made sure we’ll leave happy.
We were celebrating an anniversary and due to the cordial atmosphere of the place we couldn’t have chosen a better option.

Small family run restaurant, in a side lane away from the waterfront tourist eating places. The usual bread, cheese and olives are not placed on the table unless specifically requested for! The waiter is friendly and helpful, speaks English. The food is tasty, whether fish or meat. There's a good selection of wines, beer is bottled, prices moderate. Visited this place 3 weeks ago on our way to Algarve and was a must last night on our return journey. We weren't disappointed! :)

Very nice family restaurant specialized on cataplanas. These are very good and can be adjusted to your tasting. Pricing is very appropriate given proximity to the center. Service is casual, but excellent and staff speaking English, French, Spanish and obviously Portugese. Strongly recommended.

We had Monkfish (Tamboril ) and Sea Bass. Both were nicely presented, fresh and tasty. Staff very friendly and helpful.

Sea food is delicious! Service was fast and staff was nice. I'd definitely go again if I'm in the area again and recommend it. Try the shrimps they are succulent!

Excellent seafood!! Ibwas delighted with this cozy place!. I would recommend the dishes for 2 people, they are enough for 3 if each of you have a starter! Enjoy!!! :)

It is rare to get welcoming notes when we entered restaurants in Portugal. But this place treated us like customers and with good foods.

Food was of a high standard and came as big portions. The couple who own the restaurant have done an excellent job with it’s antique style.
