Restaurante A Tasquinha

If you are looking for amazing seafood, you have to stop at A Tasquinha. My boyfriend doesn’t eat fish and he ate a whole casserole full of it 😅. Staff is very friendly and the owner super warm and attentive. 100% recommended, 100% traditional Portuguese food/seafood.

Saw the reviews here and decided it was a must try. I’d recommend reservations because it’s such a popular place. But if you show up at opening the owner will try to fit you in. Once the doors are opened, everyone gets seated at once. Tables set, food and drink orders take with a smile and patience for non-speaking Portuguese visitors.
I just can’t rave enough how good this place is. My wife had the pork steak in wine and I had the seafood rice. Both amazing! I can describe the seafood rice as Paella in a bowl. The food, atmosphere, friendly staff! The owner treats his guests like family! You’ll leave full and with a happy spirit. Carlos, the owner shared a drink of port with us before we left. Very special place!

Got here just as doors were opening, very lucky to get in. Differently need reservations, there were 5 couples waiting when we left.
Carlos very gracious host, food was fabulous squid was cooked perfectly, shrimp was fabulous, tasty Sangria also!

We ordered the pork steak and had the bread and cheese. Like a home cooked meal and amazing ambiance. Very relaxing. You should probably make a reservation to make sure you get a spot as it gets busy.

We were glad to get to eat at A Tasquinha during our brief stay is Nazaré.

The restaurant opens at 7:15, and we didn’t have a reservation so we got there at 6:55, talked to the host who told me they were all booked with reservations but that he could probably squeeze me in right at opening because I was a party of 2.

There was a line formed by 7:15 and many people were turned away. We got a nice seat in the back and had a lovely meal. The covert offered was bread, cheese, olives, prawns and butter- you can pick what you want (even nothing), we also ordered the legume soup, the seafood spaghetti and the seafood rice which were all so fresh and delicious. They have a nice selection of Portuguese wines.

The staff was very friendly and the food excellent, I would definitely recommend eating here!

The best place I've visited during my vacation in Portugal. Owner really gives all his heart to this restaurant: atmosphere, energy and food made us return there each evening 3 days... and could be more but restaurant was closed on Monday-Tuesday 😊 Carlos, you inspired us ❤

Very good seafood for a great price! The best part is the service, very friendly staff and owner. We had a perfect casual and very tasty dinner, must try!

Mind blowing food.

The aperitif was stunning.

They open the dinner with few shrimps, spreadable cheese, salty butter and olives.

The house red wine is psychedelic😍.

I was welcomed so warmly at this restaurant. I had a lovely time as a solo diner, with a table at the window. The interior felt cozy and traditional. I so appreciated how friendly the staff was. The bread was fresh, the olives flavorful. I had a glass of the house red, with the tuna steak. For dessert, the coffee mousse. If I had more time I would've returned for another dessert. I don't write reviews that often but wanted to give this place credit for providing such a lovely experience for me. I recommend to anyone visiting Nazare.

Wonderful hospitality we enjoyed the mussels, clams, squid and sea bass. The freshest we have had! Traditional steak at its finest.

Wonderful host, great seafood, best clams I had in Portugal. The restaurant was full but the host squeezed us in at the best table. Great hosts, finished the night with a port toast with our group.

Awesome dining experience made even better by Carlos who entertained us with a quick wit and super friendly demeanor, highly recommended and was worth the wait. Sorry but I only remembered to take a photo of the grilled squid after I had already devoured half of it.

Mandatory Eats. Carlos and his family and crew are what I aspire to be one day. He made a connection with every table. Asked us where we were from, thanked us for coming into his establishment. Brought me and wife into the kitchen to show us a dish he recommended. As an old chef, I appreciated the gesture and the spotless kitchen. Felt guilty not to eat that lovely fish stew for two as I was set on the grilled calamari. Served with chips,salad and a wonderful oil relish. Sea bass was pan seared in a light sauce with capers and garlic.. cooked wonderfully crispy yet not over cooked. Starters are simple and straight forward presented at the table, olives, shrimp, cheese breads.. vino verde cold and in an ice bath…this is a place where they lead you through an experience, not just a place that feeds you. Carlos joined us for a fast Porto before he sent us off.. bravo to this eatery and I’m most likely driving back in the next days and will wait happily to get a table.

Asked what they recommended and got the grilled sea bass, it was the best fish of my life. The staff is so nice they gave us free port after chatting with them for awhile, absolutely recommend eating here

Dropped in for lunch at this very busy restaurant. Small place, with seating capacity for only about 20 people. We had sardines, clams and seafood soup with rice. All very good. Fantastic fresh tomato and onion salad. Staff were friendly and worked their socks off. Well recommended!

Found this place based on the Google reviews. Very happy we walked a block off the tourist street. Dinner was very good. Had the grilled swordfish and Portuguese style steak. Both were very delicious. The owner takes great pride in food. I would say he wants people to be happy in life through food. And takes great pride in your experience at his restaurant. If you are coming at dinner time I would recommend making a reservation, but reservations are not required.

What a perfect meal! I went early, shortly after opening for dinner to hopefully get in. I was successful and had a wonderful dinner experience. The fish soup was delicious and I followed that up with the swordfish which was outstanding. The only thing that surpassed the meal was the friendly and welcoming service that I received.

Happy discovery. Food was exquisite and the prices were more than reasonable for the quantity and quality. Not to mention the great hospitality. We took the clams, the grilled mackerel and the feijaoda shrimp. All three were simply cooked to perfection.
