Order beef, grilled cheese, fresh vegetables and enjoy sightseeing view! I had a great experience at this restaurant, which has a very interesting concept. First, you go to the butcher and choose your meat, then you order snacks, sides and drinks separately, and finally you go to your table. There is a large selection of meat, which is very fresh and grilled to perfection. The skewers are hung on special hooks above the table, which makes it very easy to take them off. The restaurant has a beautiful view of the surroundings. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They speak English here. There is also their own parking lot next to the restaurant, so there is no problem if you come by car. All the ingredients are very tasty and very fresh, as they told me, they are all from local products. I highly recommend this place! I will definitely come back here and I want to bring all my friends and relatives here.

The most delicious food cooked over an open fire that you can find on the island. Everything is made from organic ingredients. The sausages were divinely tasty

It was great! We were lucky enough to find this restaurant on our first evening. It was fantastic all around, from choosing the traditional way what to eat, to tasting all the different traditionally cooked dishes. The people working are all so friendly and try to accomodate your every wish! They have great reccomandations on what to try aswell. We will definitely come back! (I sadly didn't take a picture of the meats anymore but they were delicious!!)

So far this is the best beef 🥩 I have tried in Portugal and Madeira. Listen, don’t waist your time visiting other restaurants, I did and wished I knew about this restaurant before.This is the real deal period. You will thank me later.

You’d be tempted to overlook the place, but it has a really authentic feeling about it and the food is very good (we had grilled beef and ananas and salad). Also, the sangria complemented the food perfectly. I really recommend this place when in Madeira.
Also, across the street where you have to order the food you can also buy fresh local fruit. Don’t miss the bananas. :)

One of the best places in the island to have local bbq!!! You chose the meat you want to have cooked at the butcher's. The owners serve what they grow and bread on their own. Beef, lamb, grilled cheese, pineapple... owned and staffed by family and you can feel home atmosphere there! 10/10

Food was delicious and staff were friendly. The salad, grilled cheese and grilled pineapple were great! Chicken and lamb delicious too. Nice, comfortable atmosphere after a day of hiking. Plenty of parking in a dedicated lot across the road. A bonus was fresh local produce available to purchase!

Very nice and tasty food. Managed by local family, all products from Madeira, you choose what you want from raw meat and can see how it is baked for you. Very friendly staff. Mainly local people. A bit pricy, but it’s still fine for local experience.

Very good food. Nice views. It’s a restaurant run by a family, all the vegetables and food is from their own garden. They have many vegetarian options, you won’t initially find on the menu. Good wine! Great service! We will be back :) ♥

Very nice traditional Portuguese restaurant. We found it based on the reviews on Tripadvisor and we were definitely not wrong.

The restaurant is rather strange in appearance. You order the meat side dishes in a sort of butcher shop, the salads and drinks at the bar and you eat somewhere else. The food is delicious, the best espetada I've had on the island. You could taste the meat as if it was seasoned, plus the aroma of the wood-fired oven - blew my mind! You have to visit this place because it is different from all the others

This family restaurant takes pride in their food and service and are very friendly. Tonight we learned that, other than the pineapple, everything we ate was raised on their own farm. Amazing fresh food. The salad is by far the best we've had on Madeira. Everything was very good. We enjoy getting to look at our food before it is cooked and the chef brings it immediately to our table after cooking.

We just came back from a driving and trekking tour and we’re looking for Espetatas - Portuguese specialty. Never tasted it therefore … we found something not that far (7-8 minutes) from the main route . Very interesting concept , a butcher in combination with a bar and a dining area. We ordered at the butcher the espetata - in fact you can see what you will eat- in our case just beef, Ananas, a salad, garlic bread and French fries. In the bar you are ordering the drinks. You pay everything, you get a number that’s it. You choose a table put the number on the table and a dort time later everything is coming. It was pretty good and we decided to stay there again shortly.

This place is a must visit. The food is all local and amazingly prepared. You choose the raw meat, veggies, cheese etc and then they prepare it freshly on a wooden grill and serve them on skewers they hang above the table. The staff is super friendly. The atmosphere is rustic and comfortable with an amazing view. You're sitting quite at the top of a hill and can see the sun setting behind the ocean if you visit in the evening. You'll get a food experience you'll never forget.
