Restaurante Américo - O Rei do Peixe Assado

This is definitely the best place to eat freshly grilled fish ever!! We landed there by mistake…as mentioned above the restaurant is mostly frequented by locals..as a tourist we always get referred to more touristic restaurants but the true taste is in places like this one!! Outstanding service, and hosts! We went last year on our visit to Portugal, and went back right before our return because we liked it so much! Will the restaurant be open tomorrow for lunch? Please advise. Thank you so much

This is a place you must visit when travelling to Faro. Delicious food, great staff. The owner and staff were extremely nice and made us feel more than welcome. Wish you the best, and for sure, see you next time when we are close by. THE best place!!!

Just like a Brazilian grilled meat restaurant but with fish! So much to eat! Speaking no Portuguese, we were able to navigate the process. Lots of interesting flavors and new things to try. Our lunch which included 4 beers and a large water came to €40. Highly recommend!

The best fish combo plate ever!!!! Highly recommended! Although the place has no big publicity and it is due to the fact that mostly locals eat there, that makes it must go place to enjoy some fresh fish plates cooked in a very special way!

If you want quality Grilled Fish you must try this place Americo is a great person and a great host , then you got Mario the man who grills to perfection and the Price 13.00 Euros for all the Fish you can eat ! Douradas,Corvina,Salmon grilled squid ,Sardines and many other species 😋

Wow. If you want local grilled fish, this is a great place for lunch. You can try several types of fish to compare and they were really good. We are from Japan so very used to simply grilled fish. This place did right!

This is also one of my favorite places in route EN125 to eat fresh fish on a all you can eat basis. Good fish. Great desert (farofias) Always a jar of the house wine. Low budget, alot of eating!! I always come out of Americo's in a need for a short rest or a big walk to digest all that fish I ate. Recomend it!!

Not the usual tourist stop, this is were the locals come to eat but this is where you can have all the fresh fish you can eat and the price is more than economical - it's probably one of the most reasonable quality to price ratio out here.

Simple traditional food served on the side. Delicious grilled fish almost a different one each time. Coffee also was above average compared to all other places we tried.

Excellent place to eat grilled fish (all you can eat; menu also available). The fish is varied, super fresh and tasty and the price very affordable. They do charge all other items (drinks, side orders, deserts) as extras. The restaurant is a bit off the road but they have a parking place in front (during summer it can be busy and booking in advance may be advisable). If you decide to eat outside, there can be some dust around... Looking forward to go there again.
