Excellent home made poncha!! Very friendly waiters and the food is very good

Tasty food in a pretty chill environment. Not too crowded and if you're lucky you van get one of the seats with a view of the ocean. Even if you don't get ocean views you still have a view of their pretty garden/patio area! :)

Went here twice in our week long stay, will be back next time we visit Madeira!

Lovely traditional bar. Owner and girls are fabulous.Great at humouring me at my attempt at Portuguese. Red wine is very good. Look forward to returning next year.

The picture of the food is the Pão rechedo. Not healthy, but extremely good and tasty (bread and cheese). The restaurant has a nice atmosphere, and a local vibe.

Absolutely incredible cheese filled bread bowl. The 2 person version could easily feed 3, but if you share between 2, cancel all other plans for the day unless they involve sitting or sleeping! Really friendly service and everything on the menu seemed like comfort food. We stopped in on our first day after a long journey and it was just what we needed. Beer was very reasonable, so we had quite a few. Each time they arrived with plentiful snacks (tuna mayo on melba toasts, olives and lupini beans), to the point we almost didn't need food.

Cool restaurante to chill out. Its price/quality is very good, the food was só delicious and the poncha was the best! It looks like there is an shortage of staff, but, the ones they have are very thoughtfull and helpfull.

Incredible!
First of all, the staff is amazing. I twisted my ankle right before coming up the stairs (totally my fault) and they were super helpful providing ice for me as soon as I asked for it and even let me put up my foot on a chair.

Moving next - the prego is AMAZING. Tasty and rich! In addition they have a variety of drinks.

The fact that we were surrounded by locals should say it all.

If you are in Caniço, this is a must go.

Google shows that this place is open. We went yesterday and it was closed, went early this afternoon and still not open even though the interweb showed it so. Read great reviews so just want the appropriate representation of operating hours, please.

We went to this place finally... and it was AMAZING. The best ponche, best value prop in the area. We ordered a bottle of wine for 18.50 that was locally sourced and (my wife being a wine snob) loooved it. Came with a tapas platter gratuit. This place encompasses all the positive aspects of madeira: great people, authentic food, and legit drinks

Best Poncha in Town.

Lovely little find for a drink and snack. Tucked away on a footpath route in Canico. A bus stop is Just outside. Drinks brought out with lovely little nibbles. Cannot believe we discovered this on a bend in the road!
