Restaurante Rei dos Leitões

We thoroughly enjoyed this restaurant, we were celebrating our wedding anniversary and wanted something special which we got. The only negative were the steps going down to the bathroom, we noticed a few people almost falling when stepping up.

Delicious food. Excellent service. Comfortable seating. Vegetarian options available include vegetable pie and vegetarian rice. This place is known for suckling pig but other dishes are also delicious.

Excellent food and service. The pork is simply amazing and well deserved of the accolades. Not only I recommend, but I try to go there whenever possible.

Wounderfull place in Bairrada. A must ! Nice and toested piglet with popato chips! Amazing deserts and local wines. A bit expensive, but, for me, the best Leitão da Bairrada.

Funny story with this restaurant, went here with my boyfriend on our 3 day trip trough Portugal. We were going down south, and it’s was time for lunch, and we were almost passing Mealhada, which is the perfect place to have “Leitão”(Suckling Pig). We both had our own favorite restaurant in this area, and unfortunately it was not the same!!! So we couldn’t really decide, should we go to yours or to mine?! Hmmm, My boyfriend was looking through some websites, and they all said Rei dos Leitões was the best spot to go. We looked at each other and we said maybe we should start a new tradition and find a new favorite place.. and so we did! We went here and it was delicious!!! The starters were great!!! Tasty Quejio da Serra, and perfectly done Rissois de Leitão! And don’t forget the Leitão, with super crispy skin and moist meet!!! If you are on you’re way to Mealhada or passing by, be sure to stop here. The wait is worth it!

Excellent food, in an even greater service!
I was amazed with the care and attention of our waiter, congratulations!!! Regarding the food it is a no-brainer: it is probably the best oven piglet restaurant of the dozens in the area. The good thing is the all the other dishes are excellent too. Wine list is also extensive. Not to miss when traveling from Lisbon to Porto by car on the A1 - just a small detour.

Fabulous stuff, always helpful, attentive and quick. We arrived early for lunch (before they opened at 11:45) and were amazed to see that they hold an all-staff briefing just before they open, which helps explain their professionalism.
Everything was delicious. We had the traditional piglet and it was just perfect.
The facilities were modern and very, very clean.
In summary: just a perfect experience.

Amazing suckling pig and amazing service. Highly recommend a visit

Top-level welcoming. Nice atmosphere. Excellent cuisine, with exhaustive wine list (in a country full of gems of its own, you can also choose from foreign nectars). If you won't choke on the price, you will certainly get more than a meal: you win a whole experience and a delicious memory. Bravo!

King of Leitões indeed! With varying portions to choose, the grilled pork provides the crispy skin and mouth-melting meat. Seafood linguine is one of the best as well.

Good food. Best chocolate cake in the world.

In a town where all restaurants serve the same food it is difficult to stand out! Rei dos Leitões is for me the best in town. For their great service, amazing food quality and extreme care with hygiene. Big parking available.

It worths the experience of trying a Michelin awarded restaurant. Food is amazing! It's pricy though... We went there before and after the awards and you can see (and pay) the difference.

Remarkable. Worth the price, which is higher than usual. Suckling pig was amazing, one of the best dishes I’ve had in Portugal. Service was amazing.

Fantastic food and service. The manager was very welcoming and even showed us around the grills where they cook the piglets. Amazing place, would recommend to anyone!

Mmmmmmm. Simply the Best!

This is probably the most amazing restaurant you can go. The food is magnificent but mostly, the attendance is so special that you will feel that you are special as well! Incredible experience! A must in Portugal!
