What a treat to go into the earth! The caves are beautiful and fascinating. Also they don't feel claustrophobic. It is a guided tour, and the guide was knowledgeable and happy to answer questions.
There are 2 sites a few kilometers away from each other. Both are interesting and worth visiting. Enjoy!

Very interesting and educational, learned a lot regarding the formation of grutas. Tour was just long enough and felt safe the entire time. Price was fair.

Lovely place to visit and apparently it's always 16-18 degrees C so you'd probably appreciate it more in the middle of a heatwave. When we bought the tickets, we've been told the next tour starts in 10 min and it's in Portuguese. And the English one will start in 25-30 min. Since we didn't want to wait, we joined the Portuguese tour. Big mistake! The tour took "1 hour" and not 15 min as I thought it would. I am sure the guide gave a lot of interesting information but spending an hour down there without understanding a word was painful. I'd highly recommend waiting for the English one if you don't speak Portuguese!

The caves themselves exceeded expectations and presented nature in all its glory. The visit takes 30 / 40 minutes and the guide shows a truly understand and love of the caves. It's a magical world create by nature. Definitely put it on the list if you're visiting Nazare or Fatima.

Absolutely worth seeing it, when you are around. Very nice atmosphere and impressing sculptures formed by Nature. We were almost the only visitors.

Wonderful cave to visit. Recently discovered in 1955 by accident.
A large cave of around 4000 square meters , with plenty of amazing stalactites and stalacmites to see.

My visit was very good.
On a September day, I decided going for a drive. I was driving up the side of the mountain and came to me to visit the caves head. I stopped, and I went to buy a ticket 6 euros. The person told me to wait for the guide that was finishing the the tour. I waited and the tour finished. The guide told me to wait a few minutes to see if any more visitors arrive. I waited for 5 more minutes and the guide called me to start the tour. I looked around and It was only myself in line. I liked that way. It looked like a VIP tour. The guide was nice and paciente by explaining the origens and the discovery that lead to what is now. I enjoyed. I had been at the site and never went in. This time it was a tour I am gonna remember for a long time.
If you are in the area and have time pop in, you will enjoy the visit.

First time I visited a grout in Portugal. Beautiful! But it was sad to see so many stalactites broken (not recently). Great to see preservation is improving!! I strongly recommend it

Fascinating place. The guide who showed us the rock formations had an incredible love and decades of experience to share with us. This is amazing limestone lace made over dozens of thousands of years. Pictures cannot do it justice, you have to dive in. Unmissable. Being from this area of Portugal I remember being there as a child and this only adds to the fascination.

Staff was very nice, followed the correct rules of health & safety. Furthermore, provided very interesting history of the caves and showed a great selection of chambers and wells. Will visit again !
