Don’t have enough good things to say about this place. Truly one of THE best hotels I’ve ever stayed. On top of the beautiful location & views, the actual hotel was such an experience filled with meaningful moments — from the adorable greeting & room bag, the hearts to write letters on, the significance of every room being a different emotion, the amazing cooking class & food with chef Gi, the cozy environment and homey like lounge areas, and the relaxing spa baths. It is truly the perfect get away. The staff at Cooking & Nature were over the top fabulous - could not have been sweeter. Can’t recommend enough.

Such a gorgeous hotel, deeply kind staff, and in a beautiful setting. This hotel is in the business of creating moments - which my best friend and I appreciated and noticed so much. From the emotion that our room was themed around, to a handwritten note to my best friend, to the bar of honesty, to the private cold plunge and saunas, to the wall of notes from guests, and comffffy couches and swings all around the hotel, this place was truly special!! Highly recommend for those road tripping up the coast.

Super nice hotel in a beautiful landscape. We popped up spontanously and had some extra wishes regarding the food (vegan). The staff did everything they could to make our stay there a great experience and prepared us a vegan dinner and breakfast. Thank you so much!

This place feels like a happiness vortex!! Fun kitsch decor, quiet and beautiful setting/pool, delicious food, and kind attentive staff. It's just what my soul needed after several busy days of touring Lisbon, etc. Perfection!

Super beautiful location in the mountains of a small town. Super peaceful! The property it’s self is cozy, clean and has all the necessary amenities. Breakfast is served very cute in your little basket and I enjoy the honesty bar where you can grab a beverage whenever you need. There isn’t much around the area so you will need to drive or eat at the hotel restaurant.

The staff are welcoming and friendly, the interior and rooms boast original, stylish designs, and the dinner and desserts are unbelievably delicious.

We loved our stay at this hotel. The rooms are themed after movies (we had the Avatar room!), they are located in a slightly remote area ensuring quiet and beautiful views, and the breakfast was delicious. We also signed up for a dinner cooking class, which was a fun experience.

We had an amazing stay at the nest. Everything was perfect : from the room and hotel decoration with a stunning view on the mountains to people welcoming us. It really helped us to relax.
You have access to free bikes or rent electric bikes if you wish to discover the region.

The hotel is full of fun spaces, artfully thought out, beautiful done. Hiking, bikes for rent, caves, cooking and chillax by the pool. Honor bar stocked with high end options — great cocktail tasting opportunity. They also have a “bottle of wine” honor bar which is extremely convenient for trying local wines. Restaurant is excellent with a variety of options. TIP: Cooking dinner is fun, not work — everything is chopped for you. You can drink wine while cooking. TIP: We stayed 2 nights — but wished we stayed 3 or 4 nights.

Travelling solo, this hotel is everything for a get away to get in touch with nature and appreciate the finer things in life, again. The hotel is beautifully located with a magical back drop on the mountains. I stayed at Cooking & Nature the Nest and every detail was perfect. The staff is the most friendly and helpful. Book a massage, use the wellness, do a hike (offered with GPS routing from the hotel), see local hotspots as caves, Fatima, Nazare and much more. Using a (rental) car is useful if you also want to discover the area however just relaxing and staying at the hotel is also a very good choice. I would recommend this hotel for sure!

Relaxing retreat to the countryside! We enjoyed almost everything about it - the service, the food, facilities (outdoor pool, banhos, free bicycles to explore surroundings). There are also a number of walking routes to explore. We had the most amazing pottery workshop with José - definitely a recommendation for anyone curious. The shower wasn't the most comfy one we've seen, but it was not that big of an issue.

Beautiful hotel in a tranquil setting. Food was absolutely delicious! Hotel is clean, well taken care of, and staff is very helpful. They provide an amazing amount of information on hike routes, bike routes, and nearby excursions that are accessible right from the Hotel. We hope to come back one day.

Very nice hotel. The staff is super friendly and speaks many languages to make you feel as comfortable as possible. We had a cooking lesson which was a lot of fun too. Your clothes smell afterwards (of fried food) but the experience is worth it.
The staff is always ready to give you good sightseeing ideas and even offers you bikes if you feel like biking.

On our way to the south we looked for a calm and nice hotel and we were happy that we found the cooking and nature hotel. It was a wonderful stay because they are putting a lot of love to the details. The breakfast was delicous and the honestly bar is fantastic. We would stay again in the hotel when we are back to Portugal.

Stayed in the house and it was worth every euro paid. No noise whatsoever besides nature and if you want the place is packed with AC. Loved the surroundings too. Definitely a must return place.

Located just in the edge of a national park 2 hours of Lissabon and Porto you'll find an atmospheric and also stylish hotel that has set itself up be an "emotional hotel" that combines cooking and nature.

This means: Each of the 12 rooms is designed to fit a different emotion (adventure, nostalgy, romance, melancholy,...). Any furniture in the main rooms is somehow related to nature or emotion. You can grab and mix your own drinks from an open bar, as well as you're free to use one of the three living rooms which are open for everyone, offering board games, books, magazines, a fire space, a television. The hotel also offers a small spa space featuring 3 small (~8m^2 each) bath tubs inside and a bigger pool outside.

For the "cooking" part, there's an open kitchen and several dinning tables in- and outside the hotel offering room for 2-6 people each. There's different menus to choose from, also a lunch menu. If you so choose, you can cook your own menu (cooking course) in the evening.

Additionally you can book tours (bike, horse, hiking), guided and unguided. There's also massages to choose from and yoga courses.

Make sure to sort out this (above)  stuff before you arrive, every bookable course, tour and massage must be booked 1 day before you want to do it. The dinner you have to choose up until 12am the same day. So if you arrive late (like us) do it via telephone or mail. You can choose from the lunch menu of you forgot.

The food is well done, the best we had so far in Portugal (though we are not into fish, it looked well too and other people around seemed to enjoy it). You pick the time you want to eat, it's a great option if you decide to leave the hotel for the day. In the middle of the day you may choose lunch, sadly no sweets other than some cookies and croissants are offered.

The announced places to have dinner at in the neighbourhood are often closed down. The villages nearby seem to die out sadly. I guess rural depopulation is happening in Portugal as well - you will have to travel further or eat at the hotel for sure. The next supermarket is located in Minden, that's about 20 minutes by car.

Since there are so little rooms you will get a  calm experience no matter the time of day. The most people I've seen was during breakfast. Very comforting hotel hosts, brilliant food (if you are in for fish, mussels, meat). The overall nature theme surrounds you all the day.

!The place is definitly KID FRIENDLY!

Sadly a 4* hotel unique like this one comes at a price. You of course pay alot and you are with mostly rich-er acting people. We had an Instagram influencer staying at the hotel the same time - it's creepy having people come to a place to calm down but taking professional photos all the time.

I was also a tad annoyed by a cooking class who didn't stay at the hotel. Being surprised by 12 people talking alot while sitting at the pool only dressed in a swimming pant wasn't relaxing.

Overall experience is great. Interior design was huge, only for the rooms itself it felt a bit "okay", I missed some details (cold white light in a romance room, the balcony railing was broken, 26" TV - I don't mind, but some might do). In our room the air conditioning was sadly not working, the place which offers mostly big windows in every single room overheated easily.

I can recommend this place for a calm visit as a couple or with your family (younger kids)  and/or if you only plan day trips to Lisbon or Porto (1,5 hours each) but don't want to stay in the overpriced hotels. In the cities. The price is high in this one, but you get offered alot! This hotel is unique. We will come for another stay for sure.

A great place for a city break, the best of the country side with luxury and good taste. A perfect harmony of peace and nature, with all the needs of modern living. Indulge yourself a few days of paradise, and i'm sure you won't regret it. The breakfast is great by the way! :)
