We went to the summer bubbles & cocktail tasting last week and it was both super fun and enlightening 🤩 I’m still newish to learning about Portuguese wine, regions and it’s rich cultural history which we got plenty of! Ryan and Mike are excellent at what they do, passionate about sustainability and genuine about their approach. We’ll definitely be back for more vinho em breve!🍷

An amazing place filled with delicious wines, ports, vermouth, gin, tea, olive oil and more from all over Portugal promoting local artisinal production + sustainability. This gem has been curated with love by Gabriella and Ryan, who makes very yummy vermouth. This is a MUST VISIT if you are in Porto !!!!!

Had a wonderful wine tastings experience in the lab today with a local natural winemaker. Ryan has tons of knowledge and passion for all kinds of drinks, we had a great discussion on tea, wine and even beer! Extremely recommended

I lived in Porto for two months and this amazing place was my go to for the whole time, for both wine tastings and to buy great natural wine. I really like the vibe and the level of knowledge and dedication from both the owner and the staff. If you’re into great portage natural wines it’s more then worth a visit (it’s necessary, several times)

Initially found this place as alternative wine tour company. It was such a last minutes and just before the Easter holiday so they couldn't arrange the tour. However, Ryan, the owner, was kindly offered us pop in to his wine shop and let us sip a few very interesting Portuguese natural wines (white and red), his own Vermouth (with brief story about the Vermouth history), very old Vermouth (over 100 years old). I love the attitude of the shop and Ryan.I It's much more than just a nice wine shop. It's a bit of walk from the central so when you visit, I recommend to combine the trip with the neighbour wine bar (A Cave Do Bon Vivant) and restaurant (Apego).

If you are in Porto, you need to visit this space. Ryan has curated an incredible collection of Portuguese wine (which he generously let me taste while I was there!). The shop is available to the public M-F, just make sure you ring the doorbell to have someone come let you in. Ryan also runs Catavino tours which features tailored experiences throughout the Portuguese wine regions - harvest and stomp grapes, dine above the vineyards, hike the mountains, swim in crystalline waters, and gain expertise from master winemakers while walking through vines. The adventure awaits!

Love this unique space! What is it? Part tasting room, part classroom part wine shop. I stumbled into the LAB @ Catavino and met the owner Ryan. I rang the doorbell and Ryan opened up the shop for me, (it is not always open but someone is usually here he tells me). Ryan showed me a really cool selection of organic and natural wines. I saw some oldies but goodies and some wines I had never heard of before (I work in the Portuguese wine biz in the US). You can also learn about the wine and food tours Ryan runs throughout Portugal. Excellent choice of wines and great wine tasting events!

Well worth a visit if you enjoy wine! Especially if you want to expand your horizons! Lots of fun, interesting, and sustainable wines from all over Portugal. Ryan the owner is very passionate and knowledgeable about the very curated selection of wines (and other drinks).

I was bought this experience by my partner for my birthday instead of going to a winery or local vineyard as we were interested in experiencing a variety of different wines from different regions of Portugal.

When we arrived Ryan had set a beautiful table with bread, nuts, olives and oil for us to enjoy while we were taught about the different processes of making wine and how the wines differ from region to region and of course we enjoyed a taste of wine from each of them.

Ryan asked us what we looked for in wine which helped him to choose which wines to open, so the experience felt completely tailored to us. In total we tried 7/8 different wine’s including a port.

Ryan was funny, accommodating, knowledgeable and down to earth and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this experience to anyone. This experience was a highlight of the trip to Porto for all 3 members of the group and I would happily return.

Great variety of sustainable wines, nice prices. Ryan and his team are always ready to help. Also interesting wine testings and other events are held from time to time. One of my favorite places in Porto!

If you are a curious person, wants to get to know about the portugese calture through the wine calture- that the place to be- it is much much more then a place with a great great wines (or vermuts/beers/liquers/tea or what ever. Even though the wines are amazing there), a place that realy try to make the world abit better.

A truly magnificent wine selection. I will be back there whenever I'm in porto. I recommend clarete 2021, which is the first wine of paul chevreux,it is a light red that is funky and also get their vale da capucha wines. I'm really happy this store exists because there isn't much natural wine shops in portugal and it is disappointing!! Go there for good wines !!!

Great place to learn about organic, biodynamic and natural wines! Took my parents and my brother for the natural wine class and tasting. My father and brother had never tried natural wines before and they really enjoyed the whole experience! I had never tried natural wines from Portugal and I enjoyed learning about some really cool producers! Highly recommend this place!!

The wine tasting with Ryan was one of the highlights of our short trip to Porto. It was personalized and really enjoyable for our level of knowledge (beginner). Ryan was very down to earth, informative and spontaneous.

One of the coolest, off the beaten path places to taste wines that are pushing the limits. All the wines I tried were from local, often organic, small farms. Also, Ryan is really a terrific and knowledgeable host. Definitely a memorable tasting.

Little gem in a beautiful neighborhood in Porto! Organic wines from all over Portugal, stuff you can’t find at other shops or supermarkets and staff is super friendly. They do wine tastings and classes and also events. Nice place! Recommended!!

If you look for a place to relax, have a glass of wine and simply chill out in Porto, this is it! You will have the chance of experience very special wines, always with a good story attached. The location is also great, really near the center of the city.

Excellent selection of natural and sustainable wines. Ryan was super knowledgeable and helpful. We look forward to coming back, and ordering online if we can't!
