A&D Wines - Quinta de Santa Teresa

Enjoyed a resplendent wine and tapas experience @and_wines in the Douro River Vino Verde region of Portugal yesterday. This breathtaking organic winery and vineyard uses sustainable techniques that date from as far back as the Roman Era to produce award-winning endemic wines.

A passion project by two electrical engineers, the winery is owned and cared for by people who are extremely passionate about both their product and the environment that produces it. My host Diogo was incredibly warm, friendly, and so obviously in love with the place. And there's no doubt in my mind that this was the best wine I've ever had. 🍇 So delicious and pure! The tapas and cheeses were incredible as well. All money very well spent.

We went here after touring the Douro valley and it was simply phenomenal. The amazing wines, land, multiple gardens, history, beautiful vineyards, fruit trees, pool, views etc were all among the best we ever saw. The more local, organic, Quinta was the best we visited. A big reason for this was our host/tour guide and amazing person, Diogo, who helped with so many questions and requests for a additional wine and tapas because we didn’t want to leave !! If you need one place to choose for a vineyard tour, choose this place. We are definitely going to definitely try and import some to Canada!

Best experience in Porto! We had the Top range tasting and tour with tapas, for 55 eur each it was a very good value. The location is gorgeous, the view is 360° from the tasting room. Also good facilities, AC and two toilets. Our guide was so sweet, friendly and informative. They also helped us arrange and book the tasting with short notice due to the train strikes, we couldn't see if the train would be canceled until day of. But they were very helpful and accommodating over email. They helped arrange taxi to and from Ermida station as well. Definitely worth the 1,5 hour train ride from Porto!

Thank you, Diogo for a wonderful tour and tasting. We enjoyed very much the wine selection: each wine had a distinct taste and it was the first time ever to enjoy vinho verde that had matured in oak barrel. The vegetarian tapas were also very yummy. Outstanding experience!

I think you might be looking at allllll these high reviews and fear this place may not live up to expectations, but it does. We took a lovely tour on a beautiful foggy morning and loved the experience. The property is stunning. A wonderful mix of antique and modern. The wine was delicious. We did a tasting and a cheese plate. Everything was delicious. Wish we could have brought more wine home with us.

Enjoyed a lovely afternoon by the tasting room. Prefect summers day spent tasting the wines of the Avesso variety along with the tapas. We had great chat with our host, a truly hospitable experience.

The quinta is beautiful, and the location is excellent.

Exceptional service for not a big winery. We were greeted nicely even though we shoes up 15 minutes before closing. We had the full wine tasting experience. Meet the owners themselves. We visited many other wineries after and they cannot compare to this one.

Our winery tour at A&D was an ideal experience. The property is located on the top of a vineyard with incredible views of the Douro region and includes beautiful grounds. We began by walking through the vineyard, examining different parcels of land and the grapes that grow there, then touring the various gardens in bloom and older buildings covered in tiling, and ending with our tasting next to the contemporary tasting room and swimming pool. We tried the avesso wine experience with tapas and cheese pairings, and it was such an informative tasting with Tiago. He gave us a really good understanding of the varietals grown on the property and walked us through everything perfectly. This entire experience is high quality, genuine, chic and just so enjoyable. Thank you!!

Stunning location, fabulous wine, world class service and incredible food. A must visit! Alfonso gave us a tour of the beautiful estate and all its history as well as sharing some fantastic insights about the wines. We will definitely be returning. We toured the vines with a knowledgeable and friendly guide followed by a wine tasting with tapas. The property is beautiful, the staff is friendly and the wine and food are delicious! Would recommend!!

What an amazing place! We got here just after lunch for a wine testing session. It started with a nice constitutional walk around the properly, admiring the "vines" up to 200 yrs old, chatting with our wonderful guide, who explained the history, vision and philosophy of the estate. We then had a lovely session of tasting outside in the sun by the pool at the visitor centre. What an amazing and lovely experience! The biological whites and rosés surpassed the lot in the region! (No kidding of my part!) As an afternoon experience it was our best day during our 5 day stay in Douro and I know I will call upon Quinta de Sant Teresa to ship over some of their delicacies when I get I home. Not only worth the visit but a place to return to... again and again! Many thanks!

We had a wonderful wine tasting. Diogo was our sommelier, and he was charming, super knowledgeable and made the whole experience lovely. The wines were delicious and we walked away with a number of bottles! We will be back with friends! 🧡🧡🧡
