Hotel Douro Scala

One of my very best outing with my wife. From the spa experience, to excellent room, to the exquisite dinner at the restaurante. One can not forget to mention the beautiful views, which in summer must be of the most beautiful colours.

The room are comfortable and spacious. We booked a room with view of mountain, and the view is gorgeous. The hotel is high up in the mountain, and nothing nearby except a small quaint village. The facilities and decor start to show its age, but everything is in good condition. Staff at resto are super nice and friendly, food was good. Breakfast was good.
What to complain about when you wake up to a place that is quiet, fresh air, beautiful mountain surrounded. So serene.

Loved my stay there. The people are pleasant and the hotel is nicely decorated. The locations is very calm and central on Douro River.
The room was very spacy and overlooked the garden.
It was a bit hard to take a bath without wetting the room on the design tub. But everything looked great.

Really nice relaxing atmosphere, super friendly staff and good Port wine. The rooms are beautiful and tidy and the views are stunning. Highly recommend.

Occasion: I was at this place with my wife and A lot of friends from 27th to 29th august 2021 because of a weeding.

Conclusion: i could imagine booking this hotel for a nice weekend trip as a stopp over

Fantastic place, had a wonderful time while I was there. The perfect mixture of the antique design and the new design mind-blowing.
Recommend anyone who wants to relax and have a great time you won't regret it.

Great restaurant, great views, nice pool and a nice service. This isn't truly a 5 star hotel though. But the price is great for the service provided. On a special note I loved the bread and pastry available for the breakfast.

Douro Scala is a perfect hide away place. Up the hill very remotely with a stunning view. Rooms have a nice size with view from you bathtub. Friendly staff and good wines and ports for very fair prices.

Great hotel with nice amenities. Multiple pools, a sauna, rest area.

Great place with very nice staff in an idilic location with awesome views. The path to the bedrooms is a maze though, could use more/better signs.
