Levada dos Maroços

I suffer from vertigo, so after research this walk seemed to fit the bill. The immediate drops are manageable, basically a max of 1-2m down into a field of potatoes. Met 1 person at start of walk heading back who couldn't cope with the vertigo, so if you have severe vertigo it may not be for you.

It’s a great leavada for everyone even with kids. It’s about 6 km and the views are amazing & changing all the time! I think it’s better to do it without a car. We started at the parking at Levada dos Marocos and went to the Machico.

Nice route. Not very demanding. You can buy/take local fruit along the way. Very nice views.

So many surprises on this walk! Flowers/plants, trees, etc. A waterfall, tunnel, Christmas Nativity Scene, Christmas tree and Santa, and so much more! (This time of year.). Easy with great views. Also a couple covered places with fruit for sale (honor system).

Nice easy walk. Lovely tasty bananas at self service fruit stalls. Interesting and pretty shrine.

Beatiful views, well maintained trail trough cute village. You can buy some fruit from villagers here, so I recommend carrying cash

Nice levada around a village, full of nature in the middle and some local houses on its ends. We haven't meet any other tourists there.

One of the nicest walks. Very varied, in the part of Madeira that was first developed when the Portuguese discovered Madeira. Very much recommended.

Great walk, not too strenuous, great micro climates and views. We had a guide (Marco) from perlodoatlantico, very informative.
