Amazing experience in a really cosy atmosphere for a special evening. The staff was really welcoming and attentive. The food was exquisite at a very good value for money. Highly recommended 👍👍👍

If you are in Funchal get here now. Currently Michelin guide, it will get a star. We had the fish set menu with the wine pairing. It was amazing and good value for money too. I could have easily been in a one star restaurant.

Food was very good and for the quality surpriseingly quite afordable, the lamb and the ox tail wellington from the meat lover set menu were both amazing. Personally if I went again I'd probably skip the wine pairing, they were nice but I didn't feel they added all too much to an already very tasty meal.

Would recommend if you are in the area and looking for a fancy meal that you'll also be full after!

Armazém do Sal in Funchal's center was an incredible find! We were lucky to snag a table without a reservation, probably because we went early. The food was outstanding, offering an unforgettable gastronomic journey. I highly recommend trying their Meat Lovers and Fish Lovers menus; they offer an array of delightful flavors. The authentic ambiance paired with the attentive and friendly staff made this dining experience truly exceptional. A must-visit spot!

I took my husband here for his birthday and we loved the set menu showcasing some of Madeira's best food traditions. The staff were brilliant and made my husband feel very special on his birthday. Would 100% recommend.

Lunch menu is worth the money.

We had an amazing meal here last night. The staff was extremely attentive while not being overbearing. The bottle of wine they suggested was incredible and we both enjoyed our meals immensely. 200 euros for four courses and a bottle of wine is an absolute steal. This included a generous tip, you could comfortably eat here as a couple for 120 euros.

Had the basic taster menu with wine accompaniment. Each course from the basic potatoe bread through to the dessert was excellent. Service was first class .Wine choices perfect .

Christmas Eve dinner at Armazem do Sal
A few days before our trip to Madeira I came across some good reviews of this restaurant, and when we explored Funchal on our first day we walked in to make a reservation for Christmas Eve - and boy are we glad we did!
We really had to look for this little gem as the entrance to the old warehouse is set back and almost hidden.
The interior of the Golden Room on the first floor, where we had our table, was welcoming and beautifully decorated. We loved it the minute we sat down. The genuinely friendly staff made us feel welcome from the start.
But of course we were also here for the food. And that part was a feast and delight as well. I can’t remember when I last enjoyed gourmet food this much. The menu was exquisite and the substituted dishes for me (I don’t eat fish or seafood) were superb. I have never had such a good Foie Gras, the Filet was excellent, the lamb with chestnut mousse melted on the tongue but not without leaving to die for flavors. The small in between sorbet was delicious. All of the ingredients - honey, rosemary, tangerine - were there. However, not at once but intriguingly waiting in line to please the palate.
My wife also much enjoyed the included wines and Madeira for dessert.
Oh, and the hole experience - I am explicitly not just calling it a meal - had the bargain price of €75 pP.
In case you are ever in Funchal, please give this place a try. You will not regret it!

It's definitely worth a try. Really tasty and well presented dishes. Far from what is typical but it has a great twist. Great wine pairing. Lovely atmosphere. In terms of price it's definitely above the average but affordable if compared against similar in other places. Great value for money

Our dinner at the restaurant was truly an unique gastronomic experience! From the starters, till the desserts, our tasting senses were blown away. I definitely recommend it to people who are looking for a real gastronomic experience, where the served dishes are a true art! The service was great and the personnel was extremely helpful and friendly. The music which was playing was perfectly matched with the interior of the restaurant, the ambience and the energy of this place was truly amazing. If you are visiting Funchal, do not miss the chance to go there.

One of The best places ever to eat. The bread, which they bake themselves, is to die for. Also they have different bread every day. I highly recommed you to try The sweet patato one. The beef tartar also is a must because It is so damn good. My friends and I ate here 2 nights in a row and our only regret is that we did not eat there more. A great experience. The chef and The stuff will make you never forget this place. Sadly I didn’t Take photos of all The Food because I got to excited to eat It the second Time.
