Surprice Car Rentals - Madeira

Good service, picked us up from the airport ~15 min wait. Scanned my passport ,driving license and took my credit card details.

I was offered full insurance for 189 euro but the deposit of €1850 was already applied to my card so didn't seem worthy it.

Dropped the car back off and no issues again quick look round the car and got my conformation of the deposit returned.

If I had of seen the reviews before booking I would of probably avoided the company but they must have new staff and procedures because if you turn up with everything you need (credit card with a high limit especially) theres nothing to worry about.

Well, I was really worried when I saw all the negative comments that I wanted to cancel my booking but I couldn’t since my reservation was not refundable, anyways I had a great experience with no surprice, I got the insurance to cover any damage, to be safe and to avoid any deposit… you will need a credit card though which is not a big deal for me. Some people are complaining about the credit card which surprised me.
Long story short service was great and employees were nice.
I recommend them and I will rebook with them if I decide to go back to Madeira.

Everything was top-notch. I'm not gonna lie, I was worried a bit when reading reviews, but from my experience nothing bad happened. We rented a car for a week. It was in perfect condition, even though, we were asked to take picture of a vehicle (yes, the car rental company suggested and asked us to take pics for our all safety and insurance) before renting. Tank was 1/4 full and it was said in the papers we signed and that's the amount we return a car with. I waited 4-5 min on the line, when calling, after arriving to Madeira to ask for the shuttle bus to pick us up and that's the only thing I had to wait for. Paper work went smoothly and returning a car was not a problem. Price was soooo good. Highly recommended and if I'm back to Madeira I'll rent again with them. Staff was super nice, fluent in English and helpful.

Very nice people took us back and forth from the airport to their car parking a few minutes outside FNC airport. The Peugeot 208hdi they recommended was a good upgrade indeed.

Really good service and really practical. The bus gets you from the airport and takes you to your car. Staff is extremely helpful (in my case, I had a credit card issue and they were very prompt and helpful about it)
Also very good prices and the car was exactly what was needed to travel the Island!

The staff were very helpful and pleasant. It helped that they all were bilingual. The car we hired was of really good quality and the overall experience was with suprice was great! Very happy with the staff as they made the experience very easy for us.

The only thing I would say as an improvement was the airport collection, we were waiting for a while (about an hour) from landing to getting collected.

We will be using surprice again!

The rental was very good value. The free shuttle arrived within minutes of our arrival and the transfer to the depot was quick. Staff were helpful and prompt. Returning the car was equally quick and easy.

On our recent three week trip to Madeira, Portugal we rented a car from Surprice Car Rentals. Picking up the car was very efficient and the representatives were very customer service friendly. The car was clean and ran beautifully, especially up and down the mountains on the island. The drop off was equally quick and the attendant Susan was friendly and more than helpful in completing the return and shuttling us directly to the airport. I would highly recommend this car rental company.

Easy pick-up & retoure process & friendly staff! Keep in mind though that you need a credit card for the deposit. Works with debit aswell, but i had to pay roughly 150 Euros as insurance, instead of the deposit.

I had a good experience renting from Surprice Car Rentals on Madeira. We received the car we’d reserved without issues, and the shuttle service to and from the airport was convenient. The car was clean and well maintained, and the staff was helpful and polite.

We rented a car at this place for our stay at Madeira. I selected a car with manual transmission at first. They recommended taking an automatic one because of the steep roads for €5 extra a day. I'm pretty glad that they did. No stress with manual gear. Pretty useful when you're driving down on a steep road and you meet a bus and have to go up the hill in reverse. 😅 When you arrive at the airport, don't look for a counter, just go outside and look for a guy (probably darkblue coat) with a sign that has your rental companies name on it! Had a very good experiences with Surprise Car Rentals. The deposit was set free after two days and the car was comfortable to drive. The people were very friendly and the Pick-Up at the airport was on time.

Excellent service, shuttle was quick to pick us up at Madeira Airport and bring us to their store five minutes away for the pick-up of the vehicle. We were able to get the vehicle one extra day at a good price with an upgrade also at a fair price for a Land Rover. Thankyou and we will come back to this wonderfull Island of Madeira.

So far no complaints. Tank was almost empty when I got the car, but I was able to return with the same fuel level, so all good.
