This small Capela is located a couple of hundred meters from Santa Maria church, in the Old Town area of Funchal.
Built in the 15th Cent. It is dedicated to the patron saint of fishermen, Saint Pedro Gonçalves Telmo, the "Corpo Santo".
It served as an infirmary for local fishermen and their families, providing humanitarian aid, loaning money and helping the membership's widows. It is simple, humble on the outside, but inside - it surprises you with beautiful ceiling paintings, gilded carved wood altars, and sculptures in the Manueline style.

Precioso edificio del 1495 con puertas de más de 400 años... el interior precioso, visita gratuita, y su visitas la plaza por la tarde tendrás música en directo, y si te sientas en uno de los bares, restaurantes lo disfrutarás doblemente... música, vistas...

Urokliwa, mała kaplica w Funchal, niestety za każdym razem gdy obok niej przechodziłam była zamknięta ale z zewnątrz wygląda ładnie.

Eine sehr interessante kleine Kirche. Nicht weit von der Seilbahn entfernt. Es befinden sich einige Restaurants und Bars in der Umgebung.
