This is one of two very good beer spots in Funchal. The tap list is well rounded with many styles. The staff are knowledgeable and friendly. The atmosphere inside is cool and laid-back. While enjoying beers, I ordered and enjoyed two dishes: curried squid, samosas with pork patties, and cod croquettes. All three plates tasted homemade and were served with great sauces. If you like craft beer, this is a must visit. They don't brew their own beer, but serve many of Portugal's great labels.

We had a lovely time there. Very friendly owners, really nice selection on tap (local + international) and reasonably priced (take away with 20% off!).

It’s about the beer and the wine. There is a great variety and the super nice owner is making an huge effort to find the perfect beer for you. It can be a bit pricey, so if you want to get a buzz, it’s probably not the best place. But if you wanna enjoy good beer and wine: visit this place!

Bonus: the finger food is awesome and far from your standard crisps and nuts.

This is a fantastic little ale and wine bar. The proprietor, his wife and staff work really hard to make all of their guests feel important and very welcome, regardless of whether they are local regulars or tourists just passing through. The choice of beers on tap is broad and thoughtful. There is also a great choice of cans bottles and well chosen wines. The homemade food is delicious. A bar, as good as you'll find anywhere, that I can recommend without reservation!

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to this beer haven, which offered a wide selection of Portuguese beers on tap and in the fridge. Unfortunately, we arrived too late for dinner, but we are definitely planning to return to try it out next time. The owner of the place was exceptionally kind and treated us to his homemade favabeans snack, which added an extra touch of hospitality to our experience.

Visited here twice during my trip to Madeira, it was comfortable and felt welcomed~ I personally am not much of a beer drinker, but my partner is and this place was still able to accommodate my sweet pallet :) plus the free snacks with each drink purchased was a very positive bonus! The owner was also very friendly and fun to chat to :)

A lovely craft beer bar, nice atmosphere and good beer. Unfortunately food wasn’t being served in a Saturday night so bear that in mind. The Rye Bock beer was excellent 👍

Very nice real ale bar. 8 lines with beer largely from Lisbon. Good quality and a nice place to relax and have proper beer rather than euro fizz.

Friendly place - there's an overspill downstairs and the staff will serve you there. Food also very good - my 6 euro chilli was tasty and enough. The flava beans that come with the beer as a tapas are excellent.

Quite an attractive bar.

Only slight foible is the toilet door key thing. You have to ask for it then hand it back. As the loos are downstairs and the place a little off the beaten track I don't imagine they get hounded by folk using the loo without paying. Anyway a minor issue in the scheme of things....

What a great find! If you want something other than the ever present Coral lager then this is the place to visit. They have a changing range of Portuguese craft beers of differing styles and strengths, the bar staff are very friendly and food is available too. We were made to feel more welcome here than any other bar or pub I have ever visited either at home (UK) or abroad. It’s a bit hidden away off the main drag but well worth seeking out.

What a great place! Great craft beers and you could feel the camaraderie here. The owners, Duarte and Graca, are great people. It quickly became my go to place in Funchal. If you love craft beer, you need to stop by here.

Fugacide is a small bar in a side street behind a shopping centre. It is a bar that sells craft and bottle Beer. It is one of only a few that sell craft Beer in Funchal. The staff are friendly and helpful. Order the Beer at the bar and they serve it at the table along with nuts, crisps etc. The price is reasonable for craft Beer.
