Amazing little place, with a gorgeous view not for the faint of heart. The entrance for the path leading here is NOT where the lighthouse starts, rather a bit further out at the bend of one of the adjacent roads.

At the beginning I was scared of getting down then it took me a while to have the courage to do this and definitely it’s worth a try. U will find out that’s not scary anymore! Be proud of who have already made it! 🤩

Fantastic trail and POV. With a tiny little swimming natural pool at the very end. So relaxing and romantic.

High risk, high reward. The walkway is in a bad state. You may die. It’s enough to put most people off even when they’ve walked 95% of what it takes to get there, so you’ll probably have the unbelievable pool with crashing waves to yourselves at the end of it.

This place is magical. But be careful the bridge connecting to the rock is currently (February 2022) broken. So you can't go up to the rock. But nevertheless, this little hike is worth it.

PS. The Google Maps time is not correct. According to Google Maps. It is a 4 minute walk from the car park. But it takes about half an hour to get down.

Enjoy it :)

I really enjoyed this place. I rented a house not far from Ruínas de São Jorge so I walked from here to this spot several times during my stay in Madeira. It is a short nice and relative flat walk, but if you want a more challenging walk this can easily be combined with some steep paths up to Cabo Aéreo Café or other places.

Magnificent place, however a recent storm has destroyed a part of the path. Proceed with caution.

Fabulous place with dramatic waves rolling in even on a calm day! Convenient trail down from a small parking lot up the hill (if not taking the trail from the ruins) and some handy ropes and wooden stairs the last bit. Slightly old so one better watch one’s step, but still reasonably safe! :)
Also a very nice natural pool by the ocean for a quick swim when timing the waves right!

Small lighthouse at the end if the road. The keeper opened the door for us as we approached with a Portuguese nod. The building is old but well maintained with a lovely helical staircase. The views are great along the north coast of the island.

Absolute highlight-tour If you are hiking on Madeira! But the "last mile" is only for experienced and safe stepping humans ;-) once you passend für critical Passage in the beginning after the sign, the rest of the walk is easier and safe, even though it doesn' t look connvienient. The end of the trail ist soooo beautiful! Go there If you can!
