Best food on the island so far! Friendly team, excellent food, for a fair price. Way better than any other “famous tourist trap” what we try in Funchal. Try it too!

Stopped by here after hiking, very tasty traditional espetada. Service is excellent, waiter was very friendly and attentive (didn’t get his name but great job!). The place was also packed while we were here.

It's a family restaurant with pretty good traditional island food and friendly staff/owners. I liked my meal and the ambience of the venue. The location is close to the traditional houses of Santana but just out of sight of the tourists, which is perfect.

Even though I'm not typically a fan of fish, I tried a piece from my significant other and found it delicious. I opted for chicken with fries, and the sauce was truly magnificent. This place was the first option we found on Google, and it definitely lived up to our expectations !

Had an incredible time last night at this place! From the service (with great humour!) to the food itself (large portions — their tuna steak was amazing as well as the traditional fish) and of course, passion fruit cheesecake — would go there again 100%

The food was delicious, fast serving, the guy who served us was friendly and nice.

Our tour company stopped a few mins away and instead of going to their recommended place for lunch, I did what I thought was the smart thing and look at reviews of nearby places instead. This place was the best reviewed, and boy was it an amazing choice. Less crowded than the where all the tourist buses stop and much more importantly, the food was simply outstanding!! Best meal in Madeira I had. I ate the fish with passion fruit sauce and passion fruit mousse. Both were incredible!

This place is a hidden gem! The food was absolutely delicious. The service was also fantastic!

This is an awesome place with great food and cozy atmosphere, along with affordable prices. Forgot to ask the name of the waiter, but the service was outstanding! Best grilled octopus I have ever tasted!

Excellent place. Definitely worth a 5 min walk away from the centre of Santana (with restaurants that might be good but look very touristy) to come to Serra e Mar. A small menu (as it should be) with very fresh ingredients done in a traditional way.

The service is always done with a smile by both the man and woman who work here. We had the traditional Espetada and the Tuna, which were amazing. The tuna looks so appetising and well-grilled that it looks like a beef steak. The best I've ever had! I thoroughly recommend this restaurant!

Very tasty food, a main dish is around 15 eur. Great service. Loved the grilled tuna!

OMG. It was great! Super nice stuff, we talked a bit and it was great. We felt very welcome there. And this food, amazing. Very authentic and prepared with love. Thank you for this, the parrot fish is something I will remember forever ❤

Here I had the best fish ever!! Also the beef was amazing! The best food I ate in Madeira. The waiter was also really nice to us, we had a great experience there. Totally recommend

We came through the small town of Santana and had a late lunch at the Serra e Mare. We had awesome food for a very reasonable price. Taste and quality were excellent. I had Tuna steak and my wife Omelette with cheese and mushrooms. The folks were really nice. We lived our short stay and enjoyed the food a lot.

A very warm recommedation for this restaurant. Service and quality superb, Poncha to go for our driver was an extra service. Very friendly atmosphere we just felt comfortable. 5 points for this restaurant.
