Poço Ribeira do Ferreiro (Alagoinha)

This is the most iconic place on the island and there is good reason for it. The place is green but also wet. At the end of a pathway which is just 750 meters there is a small lake with several waterfalls descending from the hills. It is at some "end of the world" place. To hike the 750 metres (after the road you can be driven) you need absolutely good hiking shoes. And possibly a rain jacket, it rains a lot. The up and down hike takes only 30 minutes, but of course you need some time to stay on the spot and admire the place. Unfortunately I was the only one, out of a group of 7 that we were visiting on a van, and for this reason I stayed only a couple of minutes, I didnt want the other 6 to wait long for me. Go and enjoy the place but bear in mind that sometimes, as in my visit, it is foggy.

This is the most famous place on Flores - you look around and everything is soooo green. The waterfalls and lake are like a postcard. There are even colorful fishes in the lake. There is a free parking for 10 cars and from there to the view is 15-20 minutes walking distance. The path to there is stipy.

Seeing this was amazing. How do I decide which sight is the most amazing in the Azores? That is impossible, but this is certainly in the top 3 most beautiful sights in the Azores. There is a parking lot at the beginning of the trail. It takes maybe 20mins to get to. The hike is all uphill. The path is paved with large stones. It wasn't difficult.

Amazing waterfalls. Parking is easy to find and from the parking area it’s around a 20 minute walk which can be done with regular sneakers. It get a bit steep but nothing impossible. Stay for a bit the sky tends to clear up. Lots of people who come to fly a drone too.

Incredible place! Loads of waterfalls end up in a lake that you reach after a short walk through the forest. Incredible view so close to the road. One of most impressive things I've seen in my lifetime.

Absolutely stunning place. Incredible lush green, endemic plants, calming twitter of the birds, sound of the waterfalls. A little bit difficult patch (ca.600 from parking) but view rewards your effort.

10-15 min walk uphill to reach this wonderful spot. Definitely worth it!

Short hike, very pretty. No reason to not go there. If you go on golden hour you might experience the most beautiful scenery of your life.

The climb is a bit hard but well worthy.
When you reach it is as if you're reaching something taken out of a sci-fi movie like Rivendell or jurassic Park.
Is just unbelievable! No photo's can make it any justice for what your eyes actually capture.

A must do while you are in Flores !!
After a 600m hike (aka 20min walk - pretty slippery so don’t go with flip flops 🩴..) you will face a huge and incredible scenery.

With good weather conditions, it is amazing place! Parking near is big enough and the path to this place is not long

Maybe this is the highlight of the island. Firstly it was very foggy, so we've seen only till the middle of it. Next we decided to return, and it was absolutely great in its full beauty. It is onle 10-15 minutes from the parking on foot. Don't miss it.

Out of jurassic park movie, incredibly place, cannot describe it, you must see it! The way there is quite dangerous on flip flops, I've seen few people there wearing them

Astonishing landscape deep inside the forest. The images speak for theirselves. Around 20 minutes walk to get there through an stone path built a long time ago. On the way you will find water streams and small canals. You should be aware that in case it rains the stone path can be slippery so take your precautions.

Absolutely amazing place maybe one of the best scenic place in the world! Force of nature is there. And if you visit after rainy weather waterfalls will be more powerful with water.
