Queimadas Parking Lot

Loved walking the trail and ending up at this beautiful thatch with beers and pastries and lite snacks. Fantastic day in Santana!

Great spot to start your trip to very beautiful waterfall. This parking is not free but it is very cheap so don't worry.

The parking lot is cheap (4.1 euro is the maximum for the whole day). Good location to start a short (trail for all) or long trip (verde and inferno) along the levadas.

Good parking to leave the car and hike around. Steep climb until it is reached by car

To all that are confused about How this parking lot is working:

They only accept hard cash, (bank notes and coins) You Can’t use your credit card etc.

1. Before you go through the gate you Will get a note with a scan code on. (There is a button).

2. When you are done being at the parking space, you Can go up to the big House and pay for your stay (the amount you pay depends on How Long you are there).

(If the gate to get out is open and not closed you Can get out for free.)

3. When you have paid you Will scan your code when you are about to go through the exit gate.

(You Will not get out if you don’t pay).

Lot of spaces for park. Paid for all day 3€, if you back to car after 19 it's free to pay park park.

Really nice nature trail to the "Green Cauldron" waterfall with a path that is carved out of the edge of the mountain. It takes about 2 hours each way for the 5 mile walk - you need good footwear, a torch (or mobile) and a head for heights to fully enjoy this.

Large parking lot. Not free, not expensive, payment possible only by cash.

Beware, it gets full by 12 p.m. easily. It's €3 all day

Magical place when clouds are low. Scenic otherwise too. Small cafe to relax after levada walk.

A great starting point for the Levadas, which were my favorite part of Madeira. I wish I'd spent every day visiting one.
