They are pretty nice and unique little houses where there are some shops and things inside. We enjoyed to see them very much. It is a good program. You can spend there up to 60 minutes, it's worth coming. Free entry and you can find free parking possibility near the houses. And there are a market opposite them.

Charming and very emblematic for Madeira.

They houses are lovely to walk around and inside are some shops, crafts, flowers. The surroundings are beautiful too and look out for the stunning distinct birds of paradise flowers. Note there is not a whole lot more to do or see, but you should definitely visit!

It is a very pretty place, you can buy really cheap poncha and admire the traditional houses of Madeira. There are some gift shops and a flower shop that we loved also.

They are nicely prepared for the tourists, there is even a free underground parking lot on the opposite side. In every house there is a different shop (tourist info, flowers, poncha etc.) So there is not really a museum there if you are looking for that. But it has a nice and colour vibe, Instagrammable place ;)

Santana is a beautiful and quiet town.
We went to the carnival and it was quite loud, but atmospheric.
The people are very nice and polite.
Delicious food.

Very nice place. We came late just to see gardens, museums were closed but in general everything is great.

Really nice, absolutely makes sense to have a short visit here to shoot some lovely pics.
The souvenir shop has great choice of items, although somewhat overpriced.
The parking space nearby is free , which helps a lot.
The lavatories are not so clean though, no soap, or paper :(

Nice to see some of the typical little houses. Free to visit. You can enter some as there are little stores inside. There is a free parking garage nearby. Also nice views.

Easy parking, cute traditional houses to check out. Drive here was gorgeous! Free to enter but bring cash if you want to buy from gift store.

Beautiful small houses! As I understood , the roof needs to be changed every 4-5 years. In some of them it seems like someone lives there.

Despite the rain, it was nice to visit and see the old traditional fisher's huts. Exquisite hand made crafts of linen, and some tourist mementos for sale (postcards, magnets local cakes and biscuits, poncha etc). Free, covered carpark just across the street!!!

Adjacent to the city hall in a small open area are several replicas of the House of Santana. They serve as shops for buying food, drinks and souvenirs. The colour combinations are appealing. A bench has been put for photography. Overall an interesting place. In front is a local market.

Nice place, great pictures, one of the houses has Poncha for sale (very good by the way) and the best beer cookies I have ever tasted, do not hesitate to buy them!

Love the place! ✨
We bought fruit at the market right across the street which was amazing! The small bananas and mango were very delicious.

Typical Madeira houses can be seen in village of Santana. They are situated in the center of the village. There is a free parking garage just a minute away. It is something to see, as there are also beautiful flowers around them. The view from the edge is really nice. You can buy some souvenirs and flower seeds here. There is a nice restaurant just near by. Worth stopping by!

Very small area but with a great view. Free to visit and take pictures. There is a souvenir shop where you can buy gifts like a fridge magnet which I did. A bit pricey the one I chose and paid is €6.50 but very pretty. They take both cash and card payments.
