Cabo Mondego is located on the western side of the Serra da Boa Viagem, between the beaches of Murtinheira and Figueira da Foz. From this area, between the lighthouse and the descent to Buarcos, there are several points of observation of the city and its surroundings that are not to be missed. From there you can see the outline of the coast to Vieira de Leiria, with the crescent of Figueira da Foz bay

Great view of Buarcos and Figueira da Foz. Near ruins of original lighthouse and its replacement. Good spot for picnic and photo opps..

Absolutely beautiful view, the surrounding landscape gets quite flat after this mountain (if you come from the south) long view point with beautiful hiking trails.
On good days you can have a 60km view until praia da barra

Just beautiful..... Extremely rich on geology details, and where the biggest straight wave in Europe starts. I advise a visit, and the spot deserves it

This viewpoint gives you the clichéd picture of the Figueira Bay. Sometimes you can even see the coastline until Vieira de Leiria. You can also see the old cement factory and the lighthouse, towards west and north, respectively.
The Cabo Mondego Natural Monument is a protected natural formation with a lot of information from the Jurassic period (185 Million years to 140 Million years)
