Excellent food, truly different flavours and textures that were absolutely delicious! Drinks were great. The grogue is super recommended, and the staff was super friendly! Do visit to experience the flavours of African food! 🥘

We had one of our best meals in Porto here! The owner was so kind and walked us through all of the meals for a truly unique and memorable African food experience we will never forget. Highly recommend the prawn curry, the cassava-based foods, and the tamarind grog. A very special place for a different side of Portuguese-African cuisine!

What a delightful gem. The service was astounding, the atmosphere wonderful and the food exquisite. The samosas and prawn curry were stand out dishes - well executed and balanced, but plenty of flavor. The rice had subtle coconut undertones and delicate. It’s incredibly difficult to execute complementary dishes like this well.

We rounded out the meal with the tamarind grog and a wonderful sugar cane and mangosteen (I think) ice cream that was a journey unto itself.

The owner was delightful. She was enamored that our 20 month year old daughter loved her samosas.

We will be back. Bravo!

Unique African/Portuguese Fusion
You can't get this food anywhere else. The menu has offering inspired from various parts of Africa and fusion dishes combining African flair to Portuguese standards. Really delicious, reasonably priced, great service. Well worth a visit and another return to try more! Their take on the francescinha made with corn bread and a Mozambique sauce was fabulous as was the shrimp curry.

Delicious and comforting food! We got in late after our flight was delayed 4 hours and Morabeza really hit the spot. The server spoke Portuguese, English, and some Spanish to explain the whole menu to us. I would definitely go back again to try more dishes.

Enjoyed a fantastic dinner. Started with Champcas (samosas) and a mango cheese puff starter. So well flavored! We ordered shrimp in curry, Calalloo with fish and a steak with black rice. Bursting with flavor and complexity. Fish was the winner but shrimp was also outstanding! Busy and for a great reason: food cooked with love! Highly recommend!

Super tasty, Indina (I already forgot her name but she was great!) gave me two great suggestions and they were both amazing. Some balls of something like potato with garlic and a sauce, and a saucy fish dish. Really recommend the Cuca beer.

Comida muito saborosa. A empregada de mesa foi tão simpática. Os cocktails foram top. Gostei imenso, vou voltar. Definitely a great find and will be returning. Great service, tasty food, loved the cocktails to start which were perfect with the spicy samosas and fried manioc with aioli. My main course of fish calalu was very tasty. My partner’s pig cheeks with corn porridge equally tasty. Menu African Lusophone. A delicious find in Porto. Recommended.

I heard good things about the restaurant so we decided to give it a try, I can say we were not disappointed.
We tried several of the entrées, all of which we enjoyed, but I especially recommend the "bolinhos de mandioca" and "chamuças moçambicanas", they were really good.
For the main course, we had "cachupa" and the "caril de camarão", the portion size was hefty and both dishes were tasty.
Overall, the experience was good, and we'll be sure to come back to try their other dishes.

Great experience. We were a big group and they were able to accommodate us upstairs, which made it feel more private. The whole place is beautiful.
The service was a bit confusing at first, but I would say that's probably because of the largeness of the group. Eventually it all worked out!
The food was great, everybody had a good experience and got to know a bit more about African cuisine. And obviously the finishing touch of the chef (I'm guessing) coming to our table to ask us how everything was going, made it even more special. She was very nice and everybody fell in love with her 😂

I definitely do not regret spending my birthday dinner there and will definitely come back on other occasions!

Whow! We loved it! I could have eaten the samosas and drank ginger and orange grog for the whole trip to Porto! Thanks for a brilliant evening!

This neighborhood gem showcases the fusion cuisines of the owner Carla's parents from Cabo Verde and Mozambique. The soft goat cheese crusted with corn meal and drizzled with cane honey was super tasty and delicate but the highlight for me was the catchupa dish, a light Cabo Verden version of feijoada with creamy beans and cubes on manioc. Vegetarian option is available. The pitcher of white sangria was perfection and went down smoothly. The restaurant is warm and inviting decorated with regional art, the service is personal and attentive. We look forward to our return visit and getting to know Carla and staff better as well as trying some new dishes.

Having been dazzled by African cuisine in Lisbon, my son and I desperately sought something similar in Porto, which is where we were actually located for our holiday. Porto is less multicultural than Lisbon so I wasn't optimistic that we'd find anything authentic. I have never been so pleased to be proven wrong.
On entry our hostess, Carla (pictured), immediately made us feel as if we were the only people that mattered in the restaurant. I had wanted muamba, which is a dish you have to ask for but unfortunately there wasn't any left so upon registering my disappointment, she gave us a comprehensive run-through of the menu. My son opted for the shrimp curry with coconut rice and having been wowed by Carla's enthusiasm, I asked her to order for me. Seeing that we were pretty ravenous she preemptively ordered starters for us, seasoned cassava balls with a herb dipping sauce and chickpea fritters. They were astoundingly good and an excellent precursor to our main. My meal wasn't listed on the menu so I'll fail to do it justice here, but it was a curry consisting of spinach, okra, fish, aubergine served with corn meal. I have no words to do it justice and when Carla discovered I was a fiend for pepper she literally went and got a small jar for me to take away.
I thought we couldn't be any more impressed and then came desert. As my son puts it, "I don't want to have the final mouthful because then it will be over and I'll be upset". The cheesecake is the best he's had and you can see from the picture how gutted he is that the experience was about to end.
If you're in Porto and you don't take advantage of this amazing place then frankly, you're missing out on an unparalleled evening of amazing food, wonderful ambience, and in Carla the most attentive, thoughtful and considerate hostess we have ever had the privilege of meeting. We will definitely be returning and telling anyone who will listen that they need to visit too.

The food was delicious! The flavors and rich and if you ask for the spicy sauce it actually is spicy! So tasty. Can’t wait to go back.

I normally put a little planning into my culinary excursions. Gifty and I were in the neighborhood and I saw the name and thought….yes.

Off the chain good. Fantastic find. I had the Frango Fitchado and this was was a delight. I also loved the cassava “frites.” I have had yams prepared as such in Ghanaian restaurants but never cassava. Nicely done.

Also, kudos to the decor. Loved the wall hangings and the touch of Africa.

We will be going back to experience other menus items.

This is a must and an easy metro ride from the surrounding area.
