Casas de Pousadouro

A fantastic out of the way pension in the Douro Valley. The setting and the rooms were great, and the atmosphere is made special by Juliana - a jewel of a person who runs the property like an all-star.

I loved this place. The location is very unique, with access to Douro river for a swim and kayak. The accomodation is very comfy, well equiped, and with a stunning view. A big selection of amazing products like wine, beers, cookies, fruit, etc. are offered during stay. All the hosts are very friendly, nice and available to help with what you need at any time.

A truly unique place. If You’re looking for a quiet refugee this is the place. The rooms are cozy flats in rock buildings next to a cove on the river. If You are into watersports the owner has kayaks and SUPs. But the place really shines in the evening: the beatifully aranged garden has a lot of ambient lights and places where You can sit or lie down and just enjoy the moment. Surely I would visit the place again.

Just when you think you’ve seen it all, places like Casas de Pousadouro show up.
Absolutely perfect. Amazing location, great accommodation.
And above all, a fantastic service provided by all the staff, especially Juliana.
They are so welcoming and they make you feel like you’re at home.
I would and I will return for sure.

This was a great place for a secluded stay in the Douro Valley.

I stayed here in June of this year (2015) and our stay couldn't have been better.

The location is secluded and quiet..perfect for a romantic getaway.

Our host (Orlando) was the best. He knew the Douro Valley like the back of his hand. In just a few days time we were able to book tours and travel to many areas and wine makers with the help or Orlando.

In addition, they really make you feel like home here. Overall, great service, great host, and relaxing stay.

This place is fabulous. I couldn’t find a better place. I was looking for a quiet hotel so I could rest by the river, but having the chance to go and visit different cities in the north.
From the beginning until the very last minute, everything was superb.
On arrival, the host showed me to my ‘house’ and introduce the basic, give you some indications what you could do in the area and in the surrounding areas. Diana was amazing.

What have I loved about this place? The simplicity, there is no need more to impress the guests. You’re next to the river, a beautiful view at any point of the day. All the comunal areas are lovely, tidy.

The house: SPOTLESS. I have stayed at Piloto house, which is the largest of the houses, you sit in the living room and you just admire the view, you can even listen to the birds. The room was great, with a massive window to the river side too. Clean everyday.

The breakfast: TOP! They’ll serve you freshly squeezed orange juice, and these gorgeous bread just out of the oven, butter and this amazing cheese.

There is not a thing that I have not enjoyed in this place.
I don’t normally review my stays but I can tell all the hard work this place have. Because there is not such a personalised service like this one in any of the big 4* and 5* hotels, because there are so many people visiting this places that you’re just a number. At casas de Pousadouro they know you, they acknowledged you and you really feel like home.

Thank you very much for this marvellous 5 days. Big shout out to Diana and Adelaide, you’re an asset to this business.

Great accommodation with very caring staff, making sure you have a plan for the day, offering alternatives and a home made cocktail when you get back after hiking in the area or visiting vineyards

A localização é incrível, melhor sítio para uma estadia para recarregar baterias. Adoramos fazer caiaque e paddle no rio, bem como descansar nas camas ao sol a sentir a ondulação do rio. O serviço foi nada menos que excepcional. A Juliana foi super atenciosa e disponível para todos os pedidos. Para cereja no topo do bolo, a visita a fundação Eça de Queiroz (a 13min do local) e a feira do fumeiro (a 18min do local) foram o entretenimento ideal.

El entorno y las instalaciones de las que dispone la propiedad son excelentes, las Casas tienen un embarcadero, piscina, plataformas y zonas del del jardín amuebladlas para relajarse o tomar el sol; el jardín es precioso y tiene un mantenimiento impecable. Las casas están completamente equipadas con enseres, bebida y comida. El desayuno me pareció suficiente; en la nevera hay disponible queso, mantequilla mermelada, leche y yogures y por las mañanas Martina te trae amablemente bollería caliente, zumo natural y jamón. Nos quedamos en la Casa Piloto, además de estar totalmente equipada en su interior también dispone de un pequeño jardín privado con una mesa con sus sillas, dos tumbonas y un taburete, disfruté mucho de este espacio y de sus maravillosas vistas.Las vistas desde la casa son hermosas tanto de día como de noche y desde todas sus estancias.
Casas de Pousadouro es un lugar bellísimo y muy placido y placentero donde puedes relajarte en la piscina o en la orilla del río, dar un paseo caminando por el Douro caminando en uno de los kayaks y tablas disponibles. La anfitriona de las Casas, Juliana, es una chica fantástica, se encarga de que tengas lo que necesites y te sientas muy a gusto durante la estancia; hizo que la nuestra fuese aún más, inolvidable, si cabe, volveremos sin duda!!

Um dos mais bonitos sítios no nosso belo Portugal. Ideal para programas de família, com ou sem crianças, convívio com amigos ou refúgio a dois. O espaço foi pensado em tornar cada momento especial e único. As refeições junto ao rio; as paisagens que se avistam de todas as janelas das casas; os recantos para ler e conviver ou até mesmo a possibilidade de disfrutar do rio num passeio de kayak ou SUP , tornam as Casas de Pousadouro um local difícil no momento do checkout .

Casas de Pousadouro têm uma vista espetacular para a sua envolvente e ao mesmo tempo um carácter muito intimista.
