Gardens Guest House Hostel

Firstly the location is amazing, as all of the north coast is breathtaking. The host is such a kind and helpful person and the house is lovely, offering everything you need, very clean, welcoming and with good taste. I was lucky to have found it. Thank you!

Wonderful guest house run by the kindest man! Joaquim is very welcoming and makes you feel like you’re visiting family, personally making sure you’re happy and going the extra mile if you need anything.
I felt super relaxed, comfortable and welcomed at Gardens Guest house and would recommend it for anybody staying in São Vicente.
The guest house has everything you might need, has very comfortable terrace with tables and sun loungers and the best part are of course the gorgeous views from it!

My girlfriend and I we’re looking for a hiking experience in Madeira, and we believe that this is your go-to area. The surrounding nature is astounding, including a fairy tale forest hike (PR17). The owner alone is a reason to stay at this hostel. We had some great conversations, as wel as a comfy room, a living room, a nice kitchen and a beautiful view of the valley. We recommend you to come by car, since this is the best way to reach the hiking trails or surrounding towns. Parking at the hostel is free and very accessible. Thank you Joaquim!

Gardens Guest House is situated about 3km above the village of São Vicente and the ocean, which means you've got gorgeous views but still have easy accessibility. Take the bus down to the village or explore the small old roads that lead you down by foot. I preferred the latter! The Guest House itself is a little oasis, with a beautiful inner courtyard area and balconies overlooking the sea and vineyards. There is a fully equipped kitchen for guests who want to cook. The best part of the stay was the host Joaquim, who makes every effort to welcome his guests and help them navigate the area and explore both São Vicente and the neighboring areas. This is a great place to stay if you want to experience how life higher up in the mountains is while still being connected to it all! And one more excellent point, the Seixal natural pools and Porto Moniz are easy to reach by bus from here! As is Funchal if you want some city life😉

Great views on Sao vicente, supermarket close by, very warm and welcoming owners, great homey atmosphere, super comfy beds, very well-equipped kitchen and great common area to socialize with other guests! Totally recommended. Plus you get country feel from the goats and sheeps that live nearby:)

La ubicación perfecta para nuestros gustos.... en una ladera, sin bullicio alrededor (excepto el placer de escuchar balar a los corderos vecinos). La casa es muy cómoda y amplia con un jardín muy cuidado, una terraza encantadora y un salón y cocina óptimos. Habitaciones cómodas con vistas muy bellas. Baño compartido pero bien. Y esa acequia que circula por la puerta de las moradas haciendo del correr del agua un pacifico mantra.

Repetiremos la próxima vez. Encantados.

Cudowne miejsce z pięknym widokiem, w pełni wyposażona kuchnia, kawa, herbata oraz przyprawy dostępne, w pokoju ręczniki, w łazience także dostępna chemia, także dla tych podróżujących z plecakiem jak najbardziej na +. Bardzo miły i pomocny właściciel, całkiem nieźle działające wifi, no i te widoki z tarasu! <3 A! I z parkingiem przy ulicy też nie ma problemu! Spędziliśmy tydzień i pewnie jeszcze wrócimy <3

Wir waren für zwei Nächte im Gardens Guest House Hostel.
Es war wirklich eine sehr schöne Unterkunft, welche sehr gut gelegen ist.
Es gibt eine Gemeinschaftsküche, welche sehr gut ausgestattet ist.
Parken kann man direkt vor dem Hostel (auf der Strasse), wie es vielerorts in Madeira üblich ist. :)

En dehors de Funchal je recommande vivement cette Guest House hôtel pour son authentique simplicité et la grande sympathie de Joakim. Un point de départ magnifique pour rayonner de tous les cotés de cette belle île.

Schönes Gasthaus, freundlicher Inhaber. Der Online Check-In hat problemlos funktioniert. Alles super.
