Ocean Gardens Hotel

Fabulous hotel with views to die for! We stayed in the newly renovated rooms and they were just stunning and again had amazing views. The hotel was super clean, the pool area was lovely. It is out of the centre so you do need to taxi which costs €10-15 or get the bus ( which didn't turn up when we tried so we found taxi better) we didn't mind being out of the centre because the hotel was worth it!
The staff were great and the restaurant was beautiful with great food.
The only thing I can fault the hotel on is that the water in our room was not replenished. Otherwise it was perfect. I would absolutely stay here again!

Already second time in this hotel and definitely not the last.
The service, the room and the view is just spectacular here.
The words are not enough to say how careful and generous the service is.
We enjoyed our stay a lot and can‘t wait to come back here again.

PS. For those you want to do workation here, I can only recommend. The internet works good, its very calm here and the views are not to forget.

Brill Hotel and superb restaurant. Amazing view from restaurant and room also. All staff are super friendly and food OMG !!! Rooms are super clean . Most of staff speak English but Maria has the best one .

About 10m from Funchal city centre by cab but the quality, service, and views are unmatched. Huge rooms of excellent quality, quiet, peaceful, with a great restaurant and excellent food. There's also a swimming pool and a sauna on the top floor for those fitness driven.

Had a lovely stay nice hotel and grounds ,food first class very large portions , bus links directly outside hotel , easy to navigate Island, friendly staff and clean rooms , would return in a blink .

The staff was excellent and always looking after us, making sure we were as comfortable and happy as possible.Facilities and amenities were very good. Food was wonderful, very easy to connect to Funchal and the center. Will definitely make this our hotel for next visits.

Awesome Service! We wanted to rent a car and the staff organized it for an even cheaper price than on the internet. Everything we needed could be satisfied by the nice staff e.g. free 3hour late checkout, support while having a car accident etc.
The location of this hotel is fine. You can reach the inner city by bus since the bus station is right in front of the hotel. It takes about 15-20 minutes.

The view of the hotel is really awesome. One can look over funchal and the ocean. It is called ocean gardens for a reason! All in all wen can highly recommend this hotel and will gladly stay there again.

The staff from front desk to housekeeping to pool area to the restaurant is wonderful. They are kind and attentive. The are helpful in finding great places to visit on the island.

The hotel was very good. The receiption was very helpful and friendly. Great assistance.

The view from room 307 was wonderful, a balcony overlooking the island, ocean and Funchal.

PS: Try renting a car through the hotel as it is a very good price

So far, the staff are attentive and helpful. Service is very good as well as friendly. There are no in room tea or coffee facilities but that is about the only fault. The food is good with generous portions and the drinks likewise. Ocean view rooms in are exactly that and the gardens are well worth a stroll around. Room service is ok too.

Nice hotel with great views. We loved the HUGE double bed. Breakfast was good, and the pool was a nice addition. The view of Funchal from the pool level was very nice, both during daytime and nighttime.

Breathtaking view from the hotel and our room. Spotlessly clean rooms and comfortable beds. Staff friendly and helpful.
Great location. Fantastic garden.
We had five perfect days.
I would recommend rental car but free shuttle to the town is available.

We stayed in the New Year and pretty much had the run of the hotel to ourselves. Breakfast was served on our balcony every morning. Staff were brilliant, friendly and knowledgeable. The roof top pool was colder than the sea mind you. We are going to stay here on our next visit too, but we will be booking a suite.

All the staff are fabulous, special mention for Thelma and Valerie for helping us when we first arrived. Rooms are lovely, this is the sunset view from ours💕. Food is great. We have had a wonderful stay.

We only went there a couple for dinner, so I can't say anything about the hotel and the rooms. However, what I can say is, that the hotel restaurant offers the probably best view over Funchal. It is mind-blowing to have dinner (especially during sunset) and watch Funchal in the setting sun. We will always come back for a visit as - besides the view - the food in the restaurant is really good as well !

If you're looking for amazing views, you'll find them here. The hotel has two styles of rooms modern and classic. In my opinion, the hotel deserves an extra star.

our second stay in this hotel the staff on reception are so helpful the rooms are kept so clean (could have done with a kettle) and the montanha restaurant is so relaxed with friendly staff and good food wouldn't hesitate to come back
