Beautiful waterfall, with plenty smaller water springs and a lot of greens everywhere around. Ascent back is quite steep in some places so make sure to take some liquids with you. There's some nice coffee + cake bar on the way with facilities too which allows for making the tour / hike pretty pleasant.

Very beautiful trail - I recommend also doing Risco to see an incredible waterfall. Also be aware your shoes may get really wet because there can be a lot of water on the trail. It's also very safe

Also don't be like those disrespectful tourists that don't follow signs - there is a clear sign saying a part of the route is "one way". There were many people going the wrong way (forbidden) just because they didn't want to climb some stairs. It's a hike, respect the rules and the others, the trail there is way too narrow for two people to pass and it can become unsafe (I also saw one official guide with a huge group going on the forbidden way and he was acting like nothing - mind blowing)

Very nice waterfall, but got very crowded and not even in high season yet. Wild birds very friendly, despite signs saying not to feed them. Although the lovada part of the walk was flat, if a bit narrow in places, the trek to it was down steep tracks, and steps dropping a good few hundred metres, and then of course you have to climb back out. Allow plenty of time for the walk.

This trail is one of the most popular walking trails on the island, so it's best to go early - I recommend starting around 8-9 AM to avoid the tour groups and secure a parking spot! The hike took us about 3 hours and was comfortable to complete. The views of the waterfalls and lush greenery were simply breathtaking. I highly recommend this trail for any nature lovers out there!

definitely one of the highlights in Madeira.
but therefore also a pretty busy place. but quite rewarding. the route itself is doable, besides from the way down and later up from the parking, it is rather flat. make sure to also pass by risco waterfall, as it is just some few hundred meters more. furthermore, i suggest to simply follow the signs. at the end you rewarded with the pond and the waterfalls.

Great walk ruined by tourists who cant read, the walk has a place that is very narrow and exclusively one way but ✨people✨ can’t read and walk the wrong way. Perhaps a reading test at the enterance?

Many reviews are giving opposite advice on the difficulty of the hike. Lets me try and fix that. There are 2 entrances to the 25 fountains. From the parking on top of the mountain down a long sloped road to the restaurant, and then 2.5km along the levada with a lot of stairs. And apparently a tunnel excist which i didnt take but is supposed to be much easier although does not offer good views. My experience is from the long route. Let me say this. I am build as a couch potato and the long route is difficult. You get tired and your legs start to hurt from the workout. If you are built as a mountain goat it is very easy as everything is hard stones and stairs. With a bit of hiking experience and good shoes you,ll be more then ok on this trail. The waterfall and the route there are very pretty although can be crowded. We think it was all well worth it and enjoyed the challenge. We spend about 4 hours on the trip (There is a shuttle from the parking to the restaurant and back. Might be a good compromis to cut the route in half)

The main hike to the falls is moay flat along the levadas with some stairs in the beginning. If you are going to do the side trail make sure you go the way which allows you to take the very long section of stairs in the direction you prefer either up or down. We started the side trail from down near the waterfall and I hate going up stairs and its more than several hundred meters of very steep stairs

One of the most beautiful hikes in Madeira, the trail is easy but be careful to follow the right path

This is a sight you must behold at the end of the Levada das 25 fontes walking trail. A true sense of a waterfall in the middel of the jungle. It is very moist, especially when the mountain is covered in a cloud, this only deepens the magical effect. A must-see on your trip to Madeira!

Stunning place. We visited it in december, but there were a lot of people. Also bring some seeds, because the birds will sit on your palm and eat from it. Please, don't feed bread to birds, it is unhealthy for them!

To see the waterfall in its best shape it is the best to visit a few days after the heavy rain. Note: this place is overcrowded during the high season

4.6 kms walking to get there but it is very nice when you get there. Also there a cafeteria half way where you can take a rest

Great end of a hike. Very beautiful. You need to be careful on the rocks when walking to the lake.

Come here after lunch to avoid a crowd. Also the roun trip is closed for some reason, but I didn't find something dangerous there. Just keep your map nearby to not miss a turn.
Nice waterfall in the middle.
