O Cangalho Zoo

We enjoyed Fado with excellent food on a Tuesday night … the highlight of our two weeks at the Algarve in November 2021.

Rabbit Hunter’s Style is a must.

We've been visiting this restaurant since 2005 and it never disappoints. Very friendly service with extensive traditional Portuguese menu which all tastes fantastic. Best eating out experience we encounter every time. Great to have lunch also when visiting the zoo which is highly recommended.

Lovely family restaurant with amazing staff and absolutely delicious food

We actually went to the adjacent restaurant although, from previous visits, I can highly recommend the zoo. We had a wonderful Xmas meal in a great environment for a very reasonable price. This is why I chose to spend the festive season in Portugal.

Very nice restaurant at the entrance of the zoo.
The waiter is really pro and friendly. The meat is very tender (whatever the cooking). The Octopus was fresh and not rubbery.

Yet, I think the dishes is a little salty

Try to book your table for dinner on Tuesday when the restaurant organizes Fado Night with live music.
The food and the atmosphere are great, but don't try to go without reservation on Tuesday evening, no table will be available.

Wonderful, calm ambiance, a good variety on the menu. We especially enjoyed the garlic mushrooms, the lamb stew and the house wine. Courteous wait staff.

Although the prices have gone up,the food and service are exerlent,in the restaurant,next to the zoo,they also do weddings and parties,but we haven't been to those

Déjeuner avant de venir au zoo, c'était top ! Notre serveur était adorable, essayé de nous parler français. Le décor est vraiment sympa, jusque dans les toilettes, qui sont d'ailleurs très propres. Prix très correct, pas excessif comme on pourrait croire près d'un zoo. Nous nous sommes régalés. Salle peu bruyante et climatisée. Spectacle de fado le mardi soir qui à l'air bien sympa. Grand parking. Vous n'êtes pas bien sûr pas obligé de venir au zoo pour y manger.

Nous avons mangé au restaurant O Cangalho Zoo et c'était absolument délicieux ! Les plats sont copieux et savoureux. Les viandes sont tendres et les sauces onctueuses. J'ai vraiment adoré ! Mon mari n'a, je cite, "jamais mangé de canard à l'orange aussi bon de ma vie" ! Le service est également chaleureux et rapide. Je recommande à 100% !
