Barragem da bravura

Very calm place for mind reset, forest walking and camping. Be careful because there are families of wild boars, just look to the ground and avoid these tracks. Not so many people aroud, love this place. Tickets not needed.

Beautiful place to walk and be with nature.... We took a walk through the trail along the water edge and was easily out for 3.5 hours and never got all the way around not sure how long it would take to get all the way but may be easier on a bike to complete

Many people follow Google maps and end up lost. We stayed four nights up in the hills and during that time we helped a cyclist and two cars to find the way. Beautiful area, nice and quiet with nice trails for walking or biking.

Lovely walks, wild flowers and scenery.

Quiet, serene place with beautiful views. Very good for walking trips. The dam does not look that big, but has "tentacles" all around and I would guess a full walk around would be 8hrs+ with no facilities. We walked for 5 km and returned the same way, and then had only explored the south-east end of the dam. It was a very beautiful walk which I would highly recommend. There are a cafe at the dam, please note that it is closed in January. As for directions to the dam, do not use Google Maps to get here, but rather follow the signs from Odiaxere, it will save you 25 minutes and bad roads.

Beautiful lake with so few visitors that you feel like the only one there. Great walk around it, take plenty of water with you. Also, if you found a rod and reel in the first gulley that a fish stole, enjoy!

Scenic reservoir with good trails for walking. Somewhat concerning to see water levels so low, a very noticeable change on 15 months ago.

A quick and beautiful weekend escape, great views and a nice hiking completed with a small little restaurant to quench your thirst.

Not much water, but a cool view nonetheless. Restaurant is open Thursday till Sunday. So don't count ont a bite.

A lovely place to get away from the crowds.
Park at the hello goodbye cafe and walk down a road which takes you to the dam.
Crossing the dam and turn left and this takes you to a lovely remote walk around the lake.

Such a natural beauty, recommend to those whom like biking and walking. The air and the scenery. Even saw a couple doing a picnic and fishing! I recommend a trip there. Although in December was pleasant. It's Algarve anyways!

Lovely peaceful place that's completely free. Spent about half an hour there. Easy parking and food and drink there is you are peckish. Follow signs for Barragem not Google Maps directions and cut half an hour off your journey.

a fantastic place to have walks. and a nice place to have a drink at the top car park. the HELLO AND WELCOME. Water is very low at the moment. but well worth a visit

A very beautiful and quiet place. This is the unknown, fortunately, side of Algarve. One of several water dams storing water for the hot months and producing some electricity. If you visit it please keep it clean and wild as you found it.
