Restaurante O Rafaiol

I don’t often leave reviews but O Rafaiol was Fantastic, Great Service. Lovely local wine, stake cooked to exactly to our liking 5 stars for us.

We have been coming to Carvoeiro since 1980. We visited this restaurant for the first time last night. What a joy! The food was delicious (try the steaks!), the staff were charming, the atmosphere was lovely, authentic Portuguese, lovely music. (very reasonable prices) We loved it! We will be regulars from now on. I never normally post reviews, but had to, we would very highly recommend this restaurant to anybody. Thank you.

Really nice food in a very special place . Oysters were amazing, and fish and meet the best we have eaten in Portugal. Service was very nice too.

Just had lunch at O Rafaiol. On our previous three visits I couldn't resist the delicious roast lamb, but today I went for the sirloin steak with pepper sauce, which was delicious and so tender that the steak knife wasn't really necessary, fingers would have done. My wife had sea bass, which she assured me was excellently cooked, and finished with strawberries and ice cream, with Porto poured over.
P.S. 10 oysters each to start, ordered in advance.
All this, plus the friendly welcome and great service owners Peggy and Oswald made for a great lunch.

Lovely restaurant, definitely worth a visit! Friendly staff, delicious food and a beautiful terrace. Because it's located just outside the city centre it's ideal if you prefer a place that's not overly crowded like the more touristy spots. Would definitely visit again.

Excellent sea bass w potatoes and veggies. The sangria was delicious as was dessert made of vanilla ice cream, caramel and walnuts.

The venue is beautifully furnished. There was the cutest gecko walking on the patio ceiling. But, what's more important, we had an amazing dinner served with elegance and friendliness. Still thinking about that meat!

We drove past this restaurant on the outskirts of Cavoiero and decided to give it a try as it looked smart from the road and we noticed that they had live music on Thursdays and Saturdays. We went on the Saturday and were lucky to get a table so might be worth booking in advance. The food was absolutely delicious and the live music was excellent. The atmosphere was lovely and the service was professional and friendly. We had sirloin steaks and they were cooked perfectly. My daughter is vegan and staff went out of their way to make her a tasty vegan meal which was presented beautifully. We were so impressed that we reserved for the following Saturday. Would not hesitate to recommend this restaurant!

Absolutely lovely restaurant just on the outskirts of town.Roast lamb was absolutely lovely and the service was superb. Will definitely be booking again.

Lovely setting. Had the Sunday roast lamb, it was faultless. Recommend the restaurant. This was my third visit and same good meal each time.

Beautiful restaurant and the patio has such a peaceful nice feel to it. Owner is actually from Carvoeiro ! Cool history with the place. Authentic lovely food. Very good value.

Great restaurant on the edge of town. I would recommend booking a table if you want to dine on a specific night. We turned up on a Sunday and got the last available table. Very nice surroundings, great selection of foods and drinks.
Great staff and the roast lamb dinner was fabulous, they just need a little help to make proper Yorkshire puddings. Worth making the trip to the outskirts for a quality meal but as I mention before you might want to book in advance. Great outdoor dinning area but the dining room is just as nice and the owners are very attentive.

Restaurant is found going out of town went for Sunday roast lamb, was very tasty. Pleasant surroundings on terrace staff friendly & service good. Husband had apple crumble for dessert more like a tart than crumble but it went down well.

My wife and I went here to celebrate her birthday and had a great meal. We both went for the ribeye steaks, which were cooked to perfection. The wine was very good as was the service. I thoroughly recommend it.

We've been this evening for a family meal for 4. Excellent service and a lovely atmosphere. I really enjoyed the prawns and the sangria too. Kids were made to feel welcome as we're we. Thank you

Incredible experience, atmosphere, food, and service. We had the lamb chops (very fresh), and sea bass - both were divine.

Just a short 8 minute walk from the main beach/town center of Carvoeiro.

We went back to this excellent restaurant several times, the food was fantastic the people who run the restaurant are equally as fantastic.

Absolutely incredible, one of the best ribeye steaks I've ever eaten and it was €19!!! I've eaten out in Carvoeiro for the last 10 days and this place wins hands down. The kids loved running around in the lemon trees after the meal. Excellent value and friendly service. Well worth a visit.

We highly recommend this restaurant as we enjoyed excellent food, service and ambiance. It is in a quiet location, has a nice outdoor patio and very comfortable indoor seating which is where we ate. The price below includes wine.
