Had lunch there twice during our holiday in Carvoiero after seeing many good reviews, and it was indeed really good. We loved the octopus, sea bass, mussels, fish soup, and surprisingly veal steak. Prices are very reasonable and very good value for money.

LOVE these local places! Asked a local for a traditional lunch place and this was the one recommended. They have a set menu as well (which was meant to be for 12euro for 3 courses) but it was not available on the day we went due to a national holiday.

Authentic Portuguese food, at great prices. If you are looking for a quick meal, this is NOT the place to come to, and another reason I loved it. The team working here are proper old school, but their English is good, they were really friendly, and it felt like eating at their house!

The fish was delicious (sea bass and most of the fish comes on the bone unless specified which was great) and the vegetables cooked nicely with a little garlic butter.

Couvert was cheap, bread fresh.

Desserts looked great (made in house) and will defo be going back again.

Great 'old style' restaurant with very friendly knowledgeable staff, lovely wine and great food at reasonable prices. Good atmosphere too and lovely in the leafy covered annex. Well worth it!

Food was amazing! Best meal we had in two weeks in Portugal! Our server was very friendly and helpful. The fish was incredible- fresh and simply prepared so you tasted the flavor. The chicken piripiri was also delicious. Would have gone back a second night but they were closed. This is a local find! Thank you for a wonderful meal 🙏🏻

The service was very outstanding and the complementary appetizer was really I lovely surprise. The meal taste good and the dessert as well. We really appreciate how attentive and polite the servers were and listened carefully to our requests.

Nice genuine guys running this place, and I had a fantastic fish cataplana for lunch. Very recommended. Not a “touristy restaurant” although there are of course also tourists.

We had the chicken piri piri and grilled sea bass. The chicken was so juicy and perfectly seasoned. Fries were crispy and flavourful! The sea bass was perfectly grilled and the best grilled fish I had in Portugal so far. We came back twice in the same day!! The server and owner are very friendly too and the restaurant had a nice cozy atmosphere.

Good service and Family friendly restaurant. We enjoyed a lot not only their seafood but also grilled meats. Good wine and desserts. There are couples of times we've been here for the last 2 weeks during our vacation. Merci bien à tous !

Lunch for 6 here was wonderful in the shaded garden with sangria, mussels, olives, spaghetti bolognese, and a deliciously grilled chicken and pineapple grilled kabob. The waiters were friendly, funny, and very welcoming. Highly recommended.

Amazing food for both fish and meat! This is the best cost-per-benefit restaurant in this street. We came here twice and will definitely comeback. Great service, menu in different languages (plus the staff speak 7 languages), very tasty appetizers and incredible fish dishes and meat dishes. They are also very flexible in what you can order as a side and they have good desserts and wine. Don’t trust when google says it is closed, check it out and and is probably open. 10/10 recommend!

First time at the restaurant. The food was lovely. The house wine was very nice. Had a lovely evening. Lovely Portuguese food . Friendly staff and very good prices.

I tried 3 different dishes during 3 different days. Food was awesome, the place was clean and Antonio attending was formidable. I recommend the place to go anytime.

The food was amazing at a very good price in comparison to other restaurants. A relaxed environment on the terrace surrounded by green plants.
But what made the experience exceptional, was the amazing waiters and their friendly behaviour and multilanguage :)

Very nice place and delicious fish!

Owned by a sweet elderly couple, this restaurant serves fresh, simply delicious seafood. No frills, just relies on freshness of ingredients and great grilling/ cooking skills. I had the mixed fish grill which consist of Seabass, salmon and corvina with veggie side. Absolutely great value - I almost wanted to advice them to increase the price a bit lol. I returned for the grilled octopus which did not disappoint too. Next time, I want to try their cataplana - fish/ seafood stew.

Carvoeiro is a sunny tourist town in southern Portugal filled to the brim with British tourists and a boring selection of restaurants selling the very same food that people are used to eating at home. This place stands out. It serves authentic Portuguese seafood. We ordered clams, squid, gold bream and swordfish. The dishes were a bit rustic with potatoes, carrots, peas and broccoli on the side, but the fisk tasted fantastic and the waiters were very professional. On top of that we were able to relax and be ourselves - far from given in an overrun city as Carvoeiro.
