I am visiting for a year from the U.S. and needed to find a local stylist in Funchal. I tried to connect with a couple of local salons online before contacting Clara, but no one would get back to me.
When I sent an inquiry to Clara Hair Spa via their website to see if they had English-speaking stylists, I got a professional response within a matter of hours with an offer to set up an appointment.

I was nervous about the language barrier, and also because of the fact that the same person had been doing my hair in the U.S. for over 10 years - you can never be sure what you'll get when you try a new stylist.

Well, what I got was an amazing, caring experience from a team who listened and looked at photos of what I needed. Clara did my color, cut and style, and it may be the best haircut I've ever had in my life. When I came home, my husband said, "Wow...that's the best I've ever seen your hair look right after you come home from the salon!" Clara Hair Spa will be my go-to salon for as long as I'm in Funchal.

I have been going to Clara Hair Spa for 3 years. I am a fixed customer. I have done spectacular makeup for the events I attend. Every time I want to change my look, Clara gives me her image advice to make a look that suits me and my style. They have put extensions on me, they have dyed my hair, the manicure and pedicure always look perfect on me. And, I already made the appointment to be made beautiful on my wedding day.

I went to get my hair in "crazy" colors, blue, turquoise, green, and pink. I sent pictures, and I got exactly what I asked for. They did a good job. It was Wella colors, so my expectation was high, the colors are semi-permanent, so I knew they wouldn't last. However, I expected them to last more than two hair wash. This is not the salon that did anything wrong, just Wella making bad colors-

Clara, the owner, gave me a phenomenal haircut today. One of the best I have ever had. The salon is beautiful, everybody is very friendly and welcoming, and English is spoken, so no worries if your Portuguese is not up to standard yet😉. I highly recommend this place and will return.

This was an amazing transformation of my hair color. From balayage I had I was upgraded 10levels up to summery naturally looking beautiful balayage that suits me perfectly and looks so natural. Wow!
It was worth the time. Extremely great quality.
I also had a cut and styling. All was an amazing surprise. It took me a while to grasp the change because I haven't had such a beautiful experience at salons for like quite some time. My hairdresser was Yvonne.

I know how difficult is to find a great and reliable hairdresser and I can tell you that Clara Hair Spa is Amazing. It has a Great customized service. I am Thrilled with my new hairstyle and color. I have tried the 3 locations and I can only said great things about its professional staff and great treatments. By the way I loved the Spa, the waxing was very good and the exfoliation and massage were very relaxing.
