We didn't have a reservation. We arrived in the morning and in about 20 minutes drove off in a new Mazda 2, automatic, hybrid. It had 200 km before we rented it. The car is perfect for Madeira. You don't need to think about slopes, strong climbs, narrow roads, the car overcomes everything without any problems. The employees are very kind and helpful. Ratings for 10👍

Very good service, despite short notice. We booked and picked up the car on the same day.
Deposite money are not blocked on your card.
The check out was fast and not nerve wracking.

I rented the latest generation Nissan Micra K14 here this August. There were no problems with the car, it worked great, it even handled the hills between Curral das Freiras and Pico do Arieiro and there were no problems when returning it either. The co-payment was up to the amount of the deposit. A big advantage was that the car could be rented almost immediately. I was satisfied, so I can recommend it

Everything was perfect. We've rented an automatic opel corsa. The car was clean and quite new with only 10.000 km. The staff was friendly and helpful. We rented the car from Funchal and dropped it at the airport. I definitely recommend it.

We have automatic Tiago and car was like very new, only 2k km run. We totally satisfied with car and service, the fee was 240 euros for three days. We have had only one issue with car play on this car when neither mine nor my friend’s phone couldn’t connected to car. That was unpleasant but it happens. Recommend totally 💯

Best experience with a car rental. The staff is very friendly, we had a 9 seat minibus perfect for us. The car was delivered directly in airport late in the night. We unfortunately damaged it but Insularcar managed it perfectly, helping us where they could. I definitely recommend this rental over big brands in Madeira. This is a photo I took of our awesome vehicle, this trafic endured the most steep Madeira roads with 7 people inside.

All went smoothly. Rep met us outside arrivals in car park. Didn't try to sell us any extras as do the ones in the terminal. When we returned car to airport we were met as arranged.

Wee have been using Insularcar a last couple of years. We come regularly and they are fair, with great friendly service and super responsive. I also love that I can talk to them via WhatsApp. Recommended.

Rented Renault Clio for 1day. Good price, incl. Insurance with 200eur excess.

They did not took deposit, but took card details (not blockade on the card, literaly wrote down card details on paper). Hopefully it won't leak anywhere.

Car not new, but in ok condition (everything works, 130k mileage, squeaky brakes, but worked fine on mountain roads).

Rented a Renault Clio for 4 days with little notice. The staff were incredibly helpful about everything. It was the most reasonable price we could find compared to all online providers. The car was clean and ran perfectly. Could not recommend them enough!

What a great service! They helped us out when we arrived very late and during a busy period. Our first rental option was cancelled by another company. This company has a good price, nice car and perfect arrangement with insurance. Someone hit our car, and the deposit was refunded partly. We are waiting for a final decision. Communication was clear and easy.

I have received their contact details from the rented apartment owner, actually he gave them my details and Mr. Jorge contacted me. The price was cheaper than other rent a car companies, I have paid 192 Euro for 4 days (plus 200 Euro cash deposit) with full insurance and two children boosters. The car was a Renault Clio (initially we have booked a Fiat Panda for the above mentioned amount) which was OK for the roads, but sometime I would have appreciated to have the idea of paying more for a 4x4 car, some roads are really steeps. Mr Jorge waited us at the airport and also on the day of our departure, the car inspection was very fast, not trying to find any kind of small scratches and so on (we have also kept the car safe). If we will return again in Madeira we will use Insularcar again, it was a pleasant experience.

Fast and good service.
Good car for a fair price (Nissan Micra / Category C, 3 days for 155 Euros).
It was possible to leave the car at the airport so we didn't need to order a taxi.

Good spot to rent a car from. Super handy pick up and drop off. We had an issue with our car after the 2nd day but a quick phone call and 30 mins later we we sorted with a new car! Would recommend

Best price I could find, and it comes with a very reasonable deposit of 200€ either with credit card or in cash.
The car was new, clean and working properly.
They have no cubicle at the airport, so the contract signing is right at the chairs in the arrivals hall, but don’t let that bother you.
Insularcar rep also accommodated the changes in my schedule as my flights got delayed. There was a night hour fee of 30€ though, but it makes sense.
Overall a very good option to rent a car from a smaller local company!

Nothing but great things with insular car. I came to Madeira in the middle of a storm and had to change my reservation last minute and they were very accommodating. Service was excellent, communication is great via WhatsApp. And insurance is included in the price! Highly recommend!
