The Village Pub

The ambience is really calm and nice. The owners recognized us after our first visit, and were overall very helpful! The prices are more then reasonable and the food is perfect if you're out for a imbiss style meal or some hotdogs and burgers along your drinks. Would definitely recommend if you're in the area!

Its a cosy, warm and lovely pub full of character. I met the publicans Mike and Ana. They were really friendly and welcoming. My mate and I had a Guiness and a vinho tinto! The food is excellent,
the music was great, it was well frequented. They spoke English which is a bonus! Well worth a visit. Thank you to Mike and Ana for a superb evening.

Best pub in Madeira! They only have a few here an The Village Pub is definitely the one you should visit 🍺 It also has a special place in my heart due to the fact that it was here that me and my partner went on our first date and we've been visiting ever since. I highly recommend their bolo do caco (typical bread from Madeira) toasts! They've a good variety from tuna, to steak and even vegetarian! If you're feeling brave ask for one or if not, you can always ask for half toast (or to share) because they're huge.

Great BEERS! Great pub food....and hidden inside in the basement is the holy grail of very nice old brown pub atmosphere. After 10pm the locals come in and the ambiance gets great...even in covid times we spent a great evening here..played some darts, had great laughs and nice drinks. Looking forward to come in again!

We’re on holiday in Madeira and this place was recommended to us by a friend of my gf. Having tried bolo de caco in several different places, these ones just blew my mind away. Super friendly staff and from my point of view definitely value for money :). Will def. come again! sláinte

Great little pub right in the centre of Canico. Walked a long way uphill to get here from our hotel but totally worth it. Walk provided some much needed exercise and great views, the drink provided much relief thereafter! :-)

Nice menu with South African sausages and local foods. Inexpensive menu, lovely Guinness on tap. Very friendly staff, tidy place and cosy atmosphere. Tidy place and a nice terrace, unfortunately just by a rather busy road. Went for lunch and thoroughly enjoyed it, very nice!
