Boca da Corrida viewpoint

One of the best viewpoints of Madeira. The way up to get there can be a bit stressful but when you arrive it's all worth it. It is also the starting point of some hikes as the Pico Grande.

Parking is very small! Only for +/- 10 cars, so better be earlier than sorry ;)

Start your hike to Boca Grande here! I enjoyed this approach and i had the whole trail to myself most of the time. The parking is small so get there early

Started here hiking Pico Grande

Take bus 96 from funchal at rodestre ticket box (where you buy your tickets) near marine museum for 40 minutes to its termination the walk upto the car park. Most of the uphill is now done and you can walk to pico grande and back on PR12 easily in 2.5 hours on good trails. Scenery is gobsmacking! When you are back go down the hill past the trrminus point to bar marios where you can await the return bus over a coffee - happy hiking

The views are amazing, the spot is not too popular unlike many others. Also the road leading up to the viewpoint is decent.

Fantastic view on Funchal, Lobos and Valley of the Nuns

One of the best if not even the best hike here on Madeira. The view was breathtaking, the path very well maintained and it seems to be still a hidden gem as not a lot of people were there in contrast to some of the more well known tourist crowded hikes around the island. Make sure to come in the morning as the clouds tend to show up in the early afternoon and you will have a great experience you will think about for quite some time!

Lovely views, small car park, some nice walks up to the local peaks

Great view and good starting point for a moderate difficulty hike towards Pico Grande. Pay attention to the indicators on the road (which are not the most visible), as there are some crossroads which can make you end up in different locations.
