PR 4 Levada do Barreiro

This levada is absolutely amazing! We took the bus 56 from Funchal till the stop at the Ecological park. Once you get there, go to the Reception (which was closed at 11 am on a Sunday) but there is a map and signs. It was raining, but the path was okay, not slippery and wide enough. Just follow the pink signs. Once you reach "the end" you can either go to Casa do Barreiro or go back to the starting point. We went further to Casa Barreiro (which was also closed on a Sunday) and then took the road to Monte (which was very very steep). Once we reached the Botanical garden (there are public toilets there) we took the bus 20 back to Funchal (buses 21 and 22 also stop there). All in all we needed 3,5 hours but we stopped a lot for pictures. It was so beautiful there and because of the "bad" weather we did not meet anybody. Definitely recommend this levada! But maybe go on a weekday, because the buses drive more frequently.

Maleńka, wąziutka lewada, jak rynna. Ale warto się przejść szlakiem wzdłuż, bo niezapomniane wrażenie. Zero ludzi. Wejście od drogi, przy znaku "Casa do Barreiro". Najpierw od drogi jedna mini-lewada, teraz nie płynęła w niej woda, dalej wpada do trochę większej, w której jest woda. Lewada wygląda na dość starą, bo jest z kamienia. Idąc wzdłuż dochodzimy do jakby wodospadu lewady, woda płynie wartko w dół. Rewelacja!

Wunderschöne Aussichten. Toll wenn die Sonne scheint aber es dennoch die ein oder andere Wolke gibt.

Obecnie zamknięte. A wydaje się być zjawiskowa :)

Belas vistas para o vale da ribeira de santa luzia, todavia a paisagem está bastante alterada, ou seja, está desprovida de floresta nativa e repleta de especies infestantes (giesta, acácias, etc)

Irgendwann ist der Weg abgesperrt und wir sind dann die Route 3.1 gegangen die nach einem Schild keinen Weg mehr weißt
