Definitely worth the visit! There is no entrance fee for the castle grounds, just walk in and enjoy. Walk up the castle walls to explore and get the most beautiful view of Serpa's town and countryside. No crowds, just the beautiful sound of birds and calm wind. A hidden gem!

The castle is fantastic! It is well maintained and you can even visit with a wheelchair because there is a lift that takes you to the second floor of the archaeological Museum as well as the wall of the castle. Do go up there because the view is worth it!

There are great views over the town from the ramparts of the castle and it has a stunning entrance. Serpa is well worth a visit to stroll around the winding streets and eat the local cakes and buy the local sheep's cheese.

Visiting Serpa in the off season certainly helped the small quiet town feel. I really liked the castle, entry is free, it is very simple walking around on the high walls give an excellent veiw of the surrounding countryside. The main square has a few little cafes and snack bars the one I went to was nice but I don't remember the name. There was some cheese related event happening in the next few days and I will say the sheep cheese from Serpa is the best I have had.

Otro castillo que visito en Portugal y me deja feliz! Está bien conservado el efecto en la entrada es muy original, desde la era prehistórica ya habitaban estas tierras, la primera fortificación fue de origen Moro, luego conquistado en el 1200, el museo también es interesante, entrada gratis.
