Maçã Verde

We loved Maçã Verde so much we ate 2x in four days in Lisbon. The food was incredible, fresh fish caught that day, best Bacalau I’ve ever had. Our server would not let us order sardinhas because they were fresh and in season; it shows how much they care about the quality of food being served. Seems to be run by an older couple that knows their cuisine to the tee. Wine was delicious and desserts were homemade delights. Cherry on top was pricing was so fair. Especially compared to the rest of Lisbon, your money stretches very far here and we were taken extremely good care of. A must stop if you are in Lisboa!

My favorite meal of Lisbon! Hidden gem. The house special cuttlefish and potatoes was one of my favorite things I ate on my trip and I loved their rice pudding too.

We read about this restaurant on Eater and it was one of our favourite meals in Lisbon. The fish was grilled to perfection and the cuttlefish was so delicious.
I love that it is a local family-run restaurant.
Food tastes authentic here and the owners and their son are so kind and nice.
Will definitely come back the next time I am in Lisbon.
P.S The chocolate mousse and flan were really delicious too and not too sweet!

This hidden gem near Santa Apolonia station is definitely one of the best eatery we have tried in Lisbon. You could only find locals here as it’s a family-managed venture that offers authentic and traditional Portuguese cuisine. Never miss to get the choco assado, the house specialty. One would easily sense that the dishes they serve have been crafted from fresh and high-quality produce. And another huge bonus is that their prices are reasonable and fair.

Best sea bass I have tried in my life. It is not a fancy restaurant but a very local one. The waiter explained patiently all dishes and we had an amazing night with friends. The flan and the vinho verde also a highlight.

Excellent food in this local restaurant! Very authentic flavor, great and fresh seafood & dessert, great host! Highly recommend: grilled codfish, grilled mackarel, bacalhau à bras, and grilled fresh sausage!

If you're trying to decide between the many amazing restaurants in the area, look no further! This place offers delicious authentic Portuguese cuisine, at an affordable price :) I recommend their cuttlefish with potatoes in olive oil, you won't regret it!

The service is equally as nice, and it's a pretty local restaurant so you won't find too many tourists here either, definitely a must try :D

Such a great little family run restaurant. Very friendly service. If at first the menu seems limited , don’t worry all the dishes are delicious..the grilled and potato , juicy and full of great flavour, their homemade PeriPeri sauce made it even better. the steak was excellent , made to order …as rare and seasoned with just enough garlic and salt.
Great price for an authentic Portuguese dinner

This was recommended to me by a friend and this restaurant did not disappoint! Absolutely amazing food and wonderful staff. Prices are affordable and you get big servings - highlight was the boiled potatoes and cuttlefish, which we truly enjoyed. This restaurant is next to the train station, Sta. Apolina so keep an eye out for it. Definitely worth visiting when in Lisbon!

We had lunch and it was amazing! Even though it was Saturday lunch and the place was packed, the owner and the team helped to get a table in 15min. We had two grilled fish, very tasty. I loved the local vibe and everyone from the staff were extremely nice! Super recommend

Maçã Verde is the Go-To for local portuguese food. This well located place is run by a lovely family, that dedicates heart and soul im their business. All ingredients are fresh and mostly from their own harvest, which gives all the meals a hearty flavour. Definitely a recommend if you value quality and local authenticity.

The best fish we had in Lisbon! We were the only tourists at lunch time: the place was full of locals. No one spoke English but we were able to communicate. The fish had an amazing smoked taste from the charcoal, so delicious! The full meal for 2 with salad and olives was €30! Highly recommended. Super close from Santa Apolonia station.

Was recommended this location by a local. First day we went, we had the sea bass and grilled Iberico ham. We were blown away at the quality for the price, so we went back the following day for more Iberico ham. Owners are present and create a welcoming atmosphere!!’

I got the sea bass which was tremendous and fresh. You have to get there earlier than I did (2pm on Saturday) to get the house cuttlefish which I heard is tasty as well. Great prices and seafood. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area.

Some of the freshest and most delicious Portuguese seafood you'll find in Lisbon. Very affordable too. There's a reason this place is always filled with locals. Can't wait to be back!

I would 100% recommend this place if you want to have a true, authentic Portuguese food experience. The staff is extremely friendly and speaks good English. The interior is a bit simple but has a certain charm to it when the restaurant is full and lively.
Then the food, all the food is very, very good. The different types of fish they offer is fresh and so delicious! I have been here multiple times and they never disappoint. The prices are very cheap for the quality and amount of food you are getting.
Absolutely a must visit when you get to Lisbon!

Amazing food, really nice place, cool waiters. I'll go back to for sure next time I'm in Lisbon. We had bachalau a bras, crème brûlée and another creamy desert with biscuit and oramge sauce which was really light and tasty.

This is typical restaurant in Lisbon. With local clients. Fresh fish are always. This is my number one in Lisbon. They have vinio verde and house vine which is tastier than everywhere. They give you starters that you should pay - they have good price. The servis is very friendly and polite, and they're fast with no problem to remember orders. Perfect. Delicious.

Oops , 5 star after long time :) , thanks guys Sooper dooper grouper grilled fish , fresh and decent taste perfect marinated and real kitchen. They take care about customer and there is not hidden cost at all , surprise:). These people are fully recommended.

Delicious seabass with fries, the liver steak also super good, the salad that comes on the side is amazing, and the waiter (part of the family who owns the place) very helpful and kind. Too bad we discovered it only 1 day before we left, but we’ll come back next time!
