Our dinner here was absolutely amazing! Food was so tasty and fresh. The service was fantastic and they even offer their own brandy on the house at the end of the meal! Would definitely come back again!

The atmosphere of the place wasn't very impressive, but I guess you don't visit for the ambience. You visit for the food that was absolutely amazing!

We made a reservation five days in advance for a Monday afternoon following the recommendations of a trusted friend and we are so glad that we had the chance to visit Sal Grosso. Whatever we tried was splendid.

Don't miss out on the diced tuna, it was apocalyptic. Same goes for the chicken in pepper sauce. Loved the coriander rice that went perfectly well with the chicken. Even the fries were great! They also treated us to half a portion of the fried calamari and we loved both the calamari and the gesture. The chocolate mousse was our grand finale and it was the best.

Don't miss out on this amazing place. It's not much to look at, but you should definitely have a meal there. Decent VfM, efficient service, overall totally worth it!

Such an amazing culinary experience. Menu is up on a board and pretty descriptive. Everyone we ordered was delicious and have no doubt that everything they make is delicious. Service was personable and friendly and fast. We still talk about this meal and can't wait to visit Portugal again and eat here.

Tip: Make a reservation! Without a reservation, it doesn't matter how early you get there the chances of getting a seat is small. There are very limited seats inside and I believe they only do 2 seatings.

All of the dishes we tried were really good - the ingredients complemented each other very well. The restaurant is tiny with only half a dozen tables so reservation is a must. The reservation times are in waves so all the patrons would come in around the same time. Since not all tables take up the entire seating limit, tables can sit empty for up to 45 mins (waiting for the next wave of patrons to arrive) while people without reservations were turned away at the door or told to wait. Not sure why it’s set up this way.

Such amazing food. The flavours were complex and unique. We had the pork belly, oxtail with a side of sweet potato. It was all very well-prepared with fresh ingredients. The red sangria was excellent too! Highly recommend this restaurant.

Great restaurant for tapas. Definitely get a reservation before coming though as the restaurant is quite cozy.

All dishes that we had were excellent while simple enough where you can identify the ingredients.

Not all dishes come with a garnish and may be too rich to eat on their own so it might be good to get some sides.

We did not reserve seats so we had to wait for 15mins but they readily served us our table despite the small space they had. We went at 3pm so the lunch crowd wasn’t too bad.
The food was very good, fresh and tasty. Must order the garlic prawns and the cilantro rice! We also had sardines and oxtail and a glass of red sangria. Delicious!
Friendly service and quick!

Amazing dinner, super tasty food and perfect service. Our waiter was one of the nicest person serving food I’ve found in Lisbon.
We loved the octopus with sweet potato, we loved the shrimps. All the sauces are cooked with love that you will need a lot of bread to enjoy it properly. Aubergines with smoked yoghurt were also pretty special
Desserts are also great. Loved the cheesecake.
Definitely I’ll come again as soon as I’m coming back to Lisbon❤
Don’t forget to book it in advance!

What a unique place this is. We were lucky because we didn't have a reservation, but we went when it opened, and they managed to get us in. The restaurant is small but very friendly with great service. As for the food, it was great and tasty no matter what we tried. What impressed us was the Bacalhau à Brás, which, apart from being delicious, the potatoes were so thin and crispy that we couldn't find anything like it in Portugal.
Remember, before you make a reservation

The food is incredible! It’s a really interesting menu. We tried 4 dishes and each was better than the last. A reservation is a must: the place is small and popular, it fills up super fast.

Tapas, but more like "small plate" style servings of really delicious portugese food. We ate like 6-7 plates for 5 people and were pretty satisfied.

The quality of the seafood was very good, would absolutely recommend the grilled octopus with sweet potato mash (the highlight of our day, we even ordered more mash potatoes) the baby squid, pan seared tuna and oxtail were also very well cooked and tasty. We also had some grilled prawns and the sauce was like a seafood soup in itself and the burger was very value for money.

We didn't make any reservations, and the place was fully booked for days. However they let us wait 15 mins and seated us when the people who reserved didn't arrive. The server was super friendly throughout the wait. Had a great time there.

It is a small and cozy restaurant. All food are so delicious. We really like the kimchi, fried squid, cod fish and lamb burger. The white sangria is very refreshing. Reservation is needed.

Luckly I make a reservation a day before. The inside is a bit small but comfortable atmosphere. They served the food very quickly. You can see the all menu from the black board. My recommend is fried baby squid because the outside is crunchy and good taste! Also Portages Kimchi was interesting taste !

A must visit in Lisbon. But be sure to make a reservation in advance. Food was really specially. Most notably the kimchi cabbage and octopus. Friendly service, nice vibe. Good wine/beer.

Sort of place you’d consider going back to during the same trip!

A very local one with a note of modernity.

Sal Grosso is quite hidden in the streets of Lisbon but there’s always some crowd around the place during the dinner time. It seems impossible to have dinner without reservations so a visit needs to be planned in advance.

The plan itself is quite small (for around 30 people max) and the tables are really close to each other. However, one doesn’t really hear other people talking. The staff is quite friendly and takes orders quite fast.

All dishes are medium-sized and meant for sharing. We really loved tartare (amazing balance of salt and acidity) and passion fruit creme brûlée.

When in Lisbon, do plan dinner here. It’s worth it!

A very nice intimate restaurant with cool atmosphere. The service is greata and everybody is super nice. The main reason for the 5 stars however is the food. Amazing flavours with an authentic portuguese vibe. Would recommend to anyone who comes to Lisbon. For the quality that you get it is also affordable.

This is a unique, tiny restaurant with their menu on the wall (in English, too).

This was highly recommended by a friend but a little hard to find at first.

We ordered wine/beer & cod croquettes to start. Then the chicken in pepper sauce, coriander rice. After we started eating, we understood why it was strongly recommended- delicious!!!!

So good. We didn't have a reservation but after some wait we were able to get in. Would recommend getting a reservation in advance to guarantee a table however. The food was amazing. We got mostly vegetarian items. The aubergine was the best preparation of aubergine I've ever had. Tomato migas was unlike anything I've ever had. I generally don't like broccolini either but this was next level. The pepper sauce chicken was the weakest item for us as it was too peppery and there wasn't much going on.
