Restaurante Museu da Batata Doce

As a tourist I would definitely place this in the Hidden Gem category. It might be in a small town, but it is big on flavor, character, and service. Some of the best steak I’ve had worldwide, a unique and very good use of sweet potato for dessert, the service was impeccable, and was reasonably priced. What more could you ask for!

We stopped here in the middle of a hike. This restaurant made our day: wonderful stews (we had wild boar and pork cheeks) with great potatoes! And also a very friendly atmosphere! We left with large smiles on our faces, even though we still had 10 more kilometers to go.

Great service! When we told the waitress that we are in a hurry and have only 1 hour or so for the lunch she was very helpful and recommended the dishes that indeed arrived not on more that in 15 min. Our mini octopus dish and fried fish were really good. Cozy atmosphere, beautiful garden. Reasonably priced.

We had an amazing time there tonight. Monk fish kebab with sweet potatoes and 10 fried shrimp on a plate with sides of salad and chips with a half litre of house white - absolutely delicious. There are reviews that say long waits and poor service... not our experience at all or with anyone around us. We were only there for 90 minutes. Prices are very reasonable.

Top quality food, fair prices, great garden to eat in, excellent service! Recommend the wild boar stew with sweet potatoes.

This is a very nice restaurant, probably the best in Rogil. The food is great. Couple of times I’ve visited just the front (pastry) area for coffee and cakes- those are really good 👌🏻

A really nice experience dining here. The food was fresh and delicious and the sweet potato is definitely a highlight. The staff were friendly and really made an effort to provide a wonderful service. I would return and recommend

Great pastry, all cakes look delicious, had the salted caramel cake with oatmilk coffee, very yummy and very good prices for this region compared to others! Also to mention they have a very beautiful outside space to sit! Very recommendable!!!

Great place to eat and enjoy the outside garden if weather allows, otherwise you may eat inside. The sweets made of locally produced sweet potato are awesome! The Medronho too.

Everything was perfect, the food, the environment and outside garden.

It was our destiny to stop there :) we were just passing by when I got hungry so we stop by accidence on a parking place in front of the restaurant. We really enjoyed the sweet potatos and cod fish. Restaurant has very nice view and it was not crowded when we were there.

Our favorite restaurant in Portugal. We came here two years ago and returned this year. Food & service was and is outstanding. Both seafood & meat is delicious. Depending on the dish it might be good to order an extra side as some dishes do not come with a lot of potatoes etc. But just ask the waiter, they are very helpful.

Absolutely amazing place! Food was fantastic, portion sizes were enormous too. Great value for money and a lovely atmosphere. Would give it six stars if I could. Staff were friendly and helpful but not pushy. Would absolutely recommend the tuna, the steak, and all of the cakes!

It's a wonderful restaurant on the road to the beach. Elegant with a nice garden and spaciously separated tables. Highly recommended
