O Arruda

Great, small, tidy and comfy place right next to the ocean! Has tables outside and inside, very friendly owners, delicious food. We had the bacon, egg and cheese sandwich: fresh and delicious. We also tried some pastries and they were all fresh and delicious! They do speak English, even though this is not so important for me: you can feel the energy of people despite the language barrier.

You would not tell from the outside that you are going to eat so well!
You can eat outside, inside or in another room where there are several tables. You feel home.
The owner is so kind and thoughtful! He will take very good care of you!
The food is fresh and delicious, either meat or fish you cannot go wrong. We had Boca Negra and the mixed meat. All very very good.
The only note is that there is no A/C and sometimes it might feel a little bit hot.

Excellent food! We've dined here twice and the fish was super fresh every time. Today we had grilled Boca Negra and it was so fresh and tender it melted in the mouth. Good desserts too. Mr Arruda, the owner, was very affable and provided great service. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Great place to eat local food! We had two delicious menus for dinner. The service was friendly and fast. And it the price was really worth it.

Very nice food and such a friendly owner. The chef, owners wife speaks english so we were able to order lapas, buffalo wings and pizza was really tasteful. And on top of all the house desert with cinammon and Maria cookie made the cherry on the pie.

Best restaurant in the Azores. Don’t let the exterior fool you. The inside is not what you are expecting. It’s the cleanest place I’ve seen on the Azores. Order the fish of the day and you won’t be disappointed. The owner is really nice too. All in all, don’t hesitate!

Lovely little restaurant in Lajes ! The staff is friendly and welcoming, great for breakfast or a proper lunch/dinner. I had the grilled fish of the day which was absolutely delicious - the cook definitely knows how to cook fresh fish ✨

We loved the pizza and not a bad view of the cliffs when out on the patio enjoying the weather! We'll be back!!

Nos ha encantado este restaurante familiar. Son gente muy amable y cercana. La comida estaba muy, muy buena. Nos ha gustado tanto que repetimos mañana!!. Un placer haber cenado en este sitio.

Por sugestão do dono comemos um bife de atum mal passado e estava fenomenal. A acompanhar bebemos um vinho da Graciosa fantástico. Com muita pena de sabermos que foi a última colheita em 2020.

Miejsce dość niepozorne choć położenie fantastyczne. Z widokiem na port i ocean. Chciałem napić się kawy ale skusiłem się na obiad. Jadłem tuńczyka z sałatką i ziemniakami i był to najlepszy tuńczyk jaki jadłem w życiu. Pan, który prowadzi ten bar także obsługuje gości i chyba gotuje, jest bardzo miły. Bardzo polecam!!! Pycha! 10 na 10!
