A nice hike for a preparation for the other hikes you can do at Faial island. A good and preserved vegetation, where you can see very impressive exemplars of the Azorean endemic and native flora present at medium and low altitude. The views are breathtaking, a lot of volcanism features can tell the story of part of the island! And the blue from the ocean together with the dark grey from the ashes of Capelinhos Volcano that erupted 63 years ago! Impressive and unique!

Great walk up. You can choose where to start: capelinhos, nature park, or wash area at foot if trail. The climb to the volcano is strenuous but can be done slowly. Wear good shoes. Fantastic view and feeling of accomplishment

Possibly the best viewpoint on the whole of Faial island. Only a 20min hike to the top.

Even our trail-running master guide, who knew every inch of Faial, was in awe on this exceptionally clear day, having been here many a time before, but only seen Graciosa island from here for the first time that day.

With the 60 years young ashen desert of Capelinhos volcano to the west, the mysterious collapsed lava tunnel cave Furna Ruim to the east, Graciosa and São Jorge to the north, and beautiful Atlantic Ocean all around, this is definitely not one to miss!

Magnifique terre qui donne l'impression de marcher sur la Lune. Cet espace rocheux nu de végétation est né l'or de l'éruption du volcan en 1957 créant ainsi cette extension de terrain sur l'île.
