Aquarium Restaurant

It was a great restaurant with even a greater service! We were big (7 people), English-speaking group and we were in hurry. One person was a vegetarian. The waiter gave us a piece of advice, so everyone was satisfied. The food was delivered so fast! We also paid very fast. So we all had a great meal and we saved a lot of time, which was very important for us at that moment.

This place was recommended to us by the local man and it was the best food I ate during my stay on Madeira. We ordered grilled limpets, fish soup, sandwich with octopus, sandwich with scabbard fish and scabbard fish fillet with banana - everything was delicious, but I especially loved the octopus sandwich. The prices are pleasant, the service is OK and the view is great - straight for the ocean. Really recommend it!

We had Aquarium schrimps. It was soooo delicious. Very nice waitress.

Every time I’m in Madeira, I always come back here. For two particular things. Their bacalhau com natas (fish pie) served only on a Wednesday. And last but not least, their dessert. It’s the type of dessert you miss and crave. Try it if you like the sound of a light vanilla creamy mouse with smooth milk chocolate spread with chopped hazelnuts on top. Delicious, never take this off the menu!

How can I describe this place? It was amazing! Cheap, delicious and came in a big portion!! This is definitely a go to restaurant! Loved it!!

We got the mixed seafood with rice and it was delicious! Flavored so well and plenty of seafood in the dish. Though it says for 2, it was enough to feed 4 persons. We couldn't finish so we had to take some back. Eating the next day was just as good! Great prices and friendly service. Would come back again! Note the name of the restaurant is Aquarium.

Every time I come here the fish is always fresh and tasty. I recommend Lapas, Gaiado and Bolo do Caco for the starters, and Tuna for the main dish. The dosage is very generous, especially if it is the dish of the day. Good quality for the price.

Excellent restaurant. Very cosy, near the beach. Plenty dishes to choose from, fresh fish. Good quality. Great views. Very good staff, friendly, always there when you prompt them. Surely recommend it.

Freshly caught fish at a good non-touristy price (if you're from the UK at least). Dorada was delicious

This aquarium restaurant is probably the most stylish one I have ever been, it even feels like I'm surrounded by fishes! Sometimes the service is not that great but they compensate with the food. I have been coming here for so many years and I've always enjoyed the food, but today the octopus was not very good..

Used mainly by locals , it’s worth tracking this place down. A bit off the beaten track but it serves fantastic freshly caught fish at reasonable prices.

Excellent food, but was very busy, perhaps because of local festivities.

I eat plant based so it was a little challenging to eat here but I ordered the sopa da legumes and a salad. The soup was good and they assured me that it was vegetable based. It really is, I could taste it. My family really liked the lapas. The view is nice.

A local gem. Really good food, for a low price, and huge quantities. Was actually astonished by how large the Picado plate was, and I ordered a medium size. 2 persons can easily eat from it, as one would struggle to finish it.

Friendly Service, fish of the day was chosen by 2 of us, we selected from the 'plate' chef cooked it very nicely. Steak was cooked as requested. Popular with locals ... that's why we tried the place.... will be returning!

very good fish at very low prices. Good place for celiacs. I had a fresh grilled tuna fillet which was amazing and glutenfree. The space is also very nice.
