Loved the way and the nature here! You need to be careful where you walk so you don't fall.

One of the greatest levada experiences partially because of the friendly dog that lives in a house adjacent to the path. Don't forget to bring some snacks.

This is a beautiful levada. You don't need to start in Referta as 5km further the levada crosses another road. You can go to a place close to the Katrepas Bar, and you start much further down the levada, and the last part is the best. If possible, you should also visit the Porto da Cruz village and have lunch there.

Easy informative 3 1/2 mile walk along the levada. As long a you pay attention to your footing it is safe and pleasant. Our guide Elio was really great, fun to be with and knowledgeable. Except when pointing out the pineapple trees and the crocodiles! He is also multilingual. Our party consisted of 14 people of 5 different nationalities and he conversed with each and everyone of us. Great guy.
