This was my favourite levada because the distance we did was flat and we walked in clouds:) Everything looked magical! I loved the eucalyptus forest and variety of exotic plants. It must look spectacular in September when all the agapanthus bloom! Bring your rainproof gear as the weather is a bit mad and unpredictable there:)

Very easy hike that starts in the village. You basically follow the water Canal into the forest.
Since it rained we couldn’t do the whole hike since the water flow was so high we couldn’t cross. It was still super beautiful- even in the rain.

Great starting point for a very nice and easy tour. Parking could be a bit tough here, depends on how busy it is, but there’s more parking in town (which js where you’re likely going to sit down for a meal or a drink anyway once you’re back ;-). If you’re walking towards Faja there are two small villages on the way within reasonable distance for a stop at a bar etc. You can walk all day or just for an hour...

Enjoyable well maintained Levada path with forrest, streams and farmland view with lots of local culture including goats and cattle. Some abandonment for exploring. Grade is level with zigs and zags, good for any type of hiker. Trail is not limited to 6.6Km.

Beautiful walk through forests and gardens. Not crowded at all, lovely views and an easy tour, suitable for smaller kids as well.

Can really recommend when the flowers 🌸 are blooming around spring. We came here in november and still liked the small hike. But nothing special around this time of the year but we can imagine it must be superb in blooming time. Enjoy! The walk is easy.

A really nice Levada walk, the Google maps location is correct - just look for the small canal along the side with the path. There are plenty of places to park along the side of the road.

Easy and flat hike. Easy enough to beable to take dogs for the levada. At parts a bit narrow and if you don't have a fear of heights this will be a piece of cake. At times you may need to walk along the road to get to the next part of the levada.

Level walks along this levada. We have done 4 walks here in the last 4 days starting here or further west. All good.

Walked part of the route going from Prazeres to Calheta. It's very flat and walkable. Scenery does not change much

An easy and accessable walk either towards Cahleta or Moniz. The traditional Maderian restaurant in Prazares is an excellent starting point. A set lunch is €10 including drinks & coffee which you can either walk off after lunch or have a reward if you walk in the morning. The walk towards Cahleta is my favourite with stunning views and plenty of shade amongst the eucalyptus trees.

Very pretty. Quite steep on the way back. Some of the guides were unfriendly. But otherwise worth the visit
