I was with my family on holiday in Portugal. I was not disappointed visiting this. It's worth going. It's not cheap, but very tasty and the atmosphere is very friendly. very experienced waiters describe in detail the dishes to be ordered and what is missing in some restaurants. high level

We were staying in the small town of Lagoa and read about this place online. Although we tend to eat on a bit of a budget, we decided to treat ourselves on this occasion - and wow, we're so glad that we did.

We hadn't booked but as it was October we took a chance and wandered up. The two waiters were so friendly and immediately made us welcome.

Starting with some lovely bread, the homemade butter included olive and also garlic with saffron. Accompanied by one of the best olive oils we have ever tasted.

We chose the gazpacho and carpaccio to start, followed by the monkfish and track of lamb.

Without doubt one of THE best meals we have tasted in a very long time.

The wine was a local Lagoa red and perfectly matched our food.

Finally sharing a delicious chocolate mousse.

We would highly recommended a visit if you are a food lover.

This is by far the best restaurant we have ever eaten at while in Europe. The service, warm and happiness flows in the atmosphere, the decor is simple yet classy and the food is to die for. The best gazpacho, T-bone and octopus I have eaten. A must go when visiting the south of Portugal!

This is was by far the best food we had on our trip to Portugal. This place is so under rated, I am surprised they are not Michelin starred yet. The resturant is located away from the resorts in a more residential neighborhood, the interior decor is simple, modern and functional. Food is the star of the show here not the fancy interior design as some other restaurant do. We were greeted and were served by professional wait staff and the owner himself. You could tell the owner had hired a team of servers with deep knowledge of food and many years of food industry experience. They were all very fluent in English. We had a wonderful introduction to a local ingredient called carob which was part of our bread stick and then dessert. We were treated by the chefs complimentary carob bread stick and hummus which was very tasty. The couvert is highly recommended we enjoyed the local olive oil and salt. On the next course we went with tapas starter which was an amazing culinary journey, every bite was enjoyed and savoured. We were also visited by chef Ivo and took his recommendation on the order to eat each dish, presentation and taste was world class, a must order. We then shared a t-bone steak which was cooked perfectly and accompanied with 2 amazing sauces. We finished our meal sharing the orange carob cake which was great. They also have a nice wine list, we enjoyed their recommended local red wine with our meal. Overall I highly recommend you try this place before the word gets out.

My husband and I dined here tonight and it was incredible!! We shared a tomahawk steak which, along with the delicious sides, was one of the nicest we had. We were stuffed but had to try the banana dessert and it did not disappoint! Our tastiest meal in Portugal by a mile. The staff were also fantastic and couldn’t have been friendlier. 11/10 experience.

If you understand and appreciate fine dining at its core, you have to visit this place. We were astounded at the level of cuisine this hidden gem delivers. Every dish was thoughtful, gorgeous, balanced, and delivered with a humble and kind spirit (shout out to the service staff, you guys were incredible). Some important highlights were the local wine list. We were able to order an orange wine from the Algarve region??? So cool. That's one way to win us over. We will not soon forget our experience here... Thank you to the men there who made us feel like family!

I booked this restaurant for my mother's 60th birthday. The food and the service were outstanding. They even made the most amazing chocolate birthday cake last minute for us. We are still talking about the food now and have even tried to recreate some of the dishes! Such a wonderful experience.

Rogerio and his staff were excellent. Great food, wine, discussions. The gaspacho , mushroom soup, monk fish and beef entrecôte and of course homemade ice cream were excellent. The restaurant was recommended by O Castelo Guest House and we were treated to Rogerio himself coming to pick us up at O Castelo and telling us the story of his restaurant. Wonderful experience!

A superb restaurant, delicious Portuguese dishes with a lovely twist! The restaurant was very busy during our lunch. We were 15 people celebrating my husband's bithday and I definitely give credit to the staffs friendly and professional service with all of the customers they had to cater to. We were all very happy our foods. Thank you Rogério 🙏🏼

Every dish is a creative and refreshing iteration on a Portuguese classic using mostly local ingredients. From the homemade butter to the herbal garnishes used on the main dishes, it was all surprisingly exceptional. The staff is super attentive and friendly, we loved every recommendation made including the excellent house red Allma Garve.

This place is truly a hidden gem in the value for money you get. We will definitely return to try their new menu in November, if not sooner!

This restaurant is a real gem. The food is divine: so well presented, such fantastic quality and unexpected ingredient combinations - it goes beyond simple food, it's an artistic, highly sensorial experience. The chef regularly updates the menu according to the seasonal ingredients available, so there's always something new to try. The service is absolutely excellent: so attentive, polite, precise - the team is trained to very high standards and everyone is very friendly. The owner introduced himself and checked on all the guests in the restaurant to make sure everything was going well. The value for money is exceptional. I highly recommend it!

An amazing experience and will definitely return. Staff very very friendly and helpful. They had a funny side as well which made the experience even better. Food was absolutely superb. Enjoyed it very much. We will be back.
