Been wanting to come here for years, just a little off the beaten path for me.
First off the dining room is peaceful and serene. It’s very comfortable and welcoming. The service was magnificent and the food was delicious more than twice my dining partners eyes rolled to the back of her head in sheer delight, (and she’s a New Yorker that knows sushi )
there’s I wonderful room upstairs for larger parties. Great wine, beer, and sake selection. We couldn’t of been more happy. reservations highly recommended, but we got in for lunch without any sat at the bar.

I recently tried takeout from IKEDA, a Japanese restaurant, and let me tell you, it was quite the experience. While I didn't dine in, I did catch a glimpse of the venue, and it exuded a calm and sophisticated vibe. The staff I encountered seemed genuinely friendly and accommodating, and the fact that they all speak English is a definite plus.

Now, let's talk about the food. When I returned home and opened up the packages, it was nothing short of mind-blowing. Sushi rolls and gyozas that tasted as good as they looked – a real treat for the senses. Even the packaging itself was neat and well-presented.

The only slight hiccup was the edamame; it didn't quite hit the mark, but it was still enjoyable.

Now, I must admit, the prices are a bit on the higher side, but considering the quality of the food, it's completely justified. In fact, it's an experience I'd be willing to splurge on again.

In conclusion, I'm definitely looking forward to visiting their restaurant for a dine-in experience. IKEDA left a lasting impression, and I'm eager to explore more of their culinary offerings. 🍣🥟🏯👌

I made a Google reservation on the day for lunch. I had the IKEDA futomaki and the Ramen. The chefs switched out on request for the pork meat for chicken and some veggies which was excellent. The service and ambience is amazing. Really good and authentic food. The shokunins were great.

I wouldn’t go to this side of the city if it wasn’t to try Ikeda but it’s really worth it. From the ambience, the decor and the service everything was perfect.

If like me you love Japanese cuisine you will enjoy your time there. We’ve tried the omelette and scallops as a starter followed by the chirashi and the chef’s nigiri selection with rainbow maki and it was delicious!

I rarely have desert in a Japanese restaurant but please don’t miss these!

Delicious Japanese Restaurant. I had a lunch and ordered sushi & sashimi set and my wife oedered zirashi. Fish quality was so fresh and they had use really good quality of fishes. Some of japanese place use cheap frozen fishes for less price, but this place was not like that.

Just one thing is they put lots of sliced radish on zirashi dish, but it’s ok.

Great atmostphere, very kinds server. Love this place.

A great contender for best sushi in Town. A truly authentic experience, joining the inventiveness of Fusion Sushi with the strict rituals and favours of a traditional Japanese sushi meal. Tempuras were amongst the best we have ever had anywhere - salted to perfection and no sight of Sweet and Sour sauce. Sushi was diverse with innovative pieces such as the uramaki with fried quail egg and truffles and again no sight of the sinful soy sauce. Desserts were okay with the Tiramisu's flavour being bland and underwhelming; the fondant was very good (but I'll skip the caramel). Quite an expensive meal.

Probably one of the best Japanese restaurants I've ever been to. We were treated amazingly, especially by the waitress (a guy from brazil). I don’t think he said his name but he was incredibly good attempting to talk in Spanish to my family as unable to speak Portuguese. Regardless it’s a bit expensive I highly recommend this place. The food was amazing.

Visited as a treat to try Wagyu steak as we’ve always wanted to try! On the fancier side but still so many affordable options. Best meal of our lives - even the salad on the side was incredible. Wagyu steak was amazing and we loved watching the sushi being made in front of us. Lovely calm atmosphere and overall a great experience.

We love everything about this restaurant: the space is beautiful (with origami decorating the ceiling), music well chosen, staff kind and knowledgeable, agile service, fantastic sushi (always fresh fish, perfectly cooked rice and flawless presentation, tasty desserts), diverse menu (Carlos had the ramen already and also loved it) and a delicious sparkling wine and balsamic vinegar sangria (sounds funny but it’s so good!). It’s a must go when we visit home, absolutely worth the price. For us it’s the #1 sushi option in Porto, one of the best sushi spots in the city right now.

The place is Amazing!

Staff is super friendly and service is fast.

The prices are not that high, especially if you take a joy of each bite into consideration.

I’m a spoiled brat in Japanese cuisine, but still was surprised and enjoyed each dish.

Thank you!

Loved the food! Sushi rice was a bit undercooked. Everything else was delicious. Servers were very friendly and patiently answered our questions about the menu. The space was simple and the cranes in the ceiling made the space very exciting to look at. Make sure you don't miss the bathroom experience! 😉
