Grand Hotel Kempinski High Tatras

Location is the best. Arcitecture is the best. Staff is the best. Just the food could be better. If you go for more than 5 days, you go through the menu very quickly and it gets boring. They have kids corner with amazing ladies that will take care of children while you having a dinner. Make sure you pack swim suit. Not many places arpund where you can get one in the winter

We really enjoyed our 3 night stay. Great location on the lake, great staff always helpful and with tons of advice. Cold days are best spent in the beautiful spa. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable as are the beds. I definitely recommend visiting.

Our stay at Kempinski grand hotel, high Tatras was spectacular. The staff ensured our stay was memorable and on arrival to the room had set up a birthday cake, champagne and a birthday card signed by all the hotel staff for my birthday. We had a room upgrade, discount on room cost and breakfast included. Everything about our stay was magical and we thoroughly enjoyed our time! Thank you.

Best hotel in High Tatras and in Slovakia, definitely worth to stay

Overall, we would rate this hotel to 4.5 stars.
Generally over price vs the quality.
What was good:
-The cleanliness of the room was excellent.
-Setup and service on the Grand Restaurant. The setup of the table and table clothes was exceptional
- 100% recommended the dinner in the Tower and special highlight to the service provided by Tomas, our waiter. It was an amazing experience with great views of the mountain, Lake, and Valley.

What could be improved:
- Spa:
- 2 showers were not working on the adult zone. No showers are available
- No towels were available and had to approach counter to get them
- Lack of refreshments in the adult relaxation room (jar of water)
- In general, the pool area was messy, and dirty towels from leaving guests were not picked up in order to create space for incoming guests
- Food:
- It was OK but for the place and price, you have higher expectations
- Room:
- Shower/tub didn't have a cover, which creates a mess when in use

Hotel rooms very cozy, beds really comfy, pools are really nice and with a lake view.

*2023 update after repeated visit... fell like amending the review, because it's still fantastic... beautiful nature right by the property, great amenities (finally tried the spa), apparently dog friendly (want to bring ours next time), dining was great from the breakfast cake to the evening cocktail, knowledgeable staff (you expect the sommelier to know about wines, however to my surprise I found out that if you tell a great one, that you are driving later that evening, he doesn't even flinch and comes up with sparkling tea as a great alternative) and if I understood right, the top management is visibly present, which might have something to do with the standards being kept high over the years

We organised our wedding at the hotel and it was truly an amazing experience. Even more so that we started our planning during the height of Corona. At a time when the hotel was operating with restrictions, the communication, support and level of attention that we received was absolutely top notch. During our wedding, the service was impeccable and everyone was trying their best to make our day as special as possible.

From the organisational perspective everything was running smoothly and as a wedding couple we really managed to enjoy our wedding day rather then having to worry about the details.

Certainly the best run hotel we've ever been to and the service you receive is absolutely worth it.

Totally satisfied with our stay - the service, facilities and food were perfect. Recommended!! Especially the rooms with the lake view - the most beautiful view when you wake up. You cannot get enough of it. ❤

The hotel is beautiful with spacious rooms and there is an amazing spa on the ground floor with great view to the mountains. Breakfast is really good as well.
I only missed a coffe maker from the room.

First of all - it's clean and tidy hotel..as you would have expected, of course. The staff is pleasant and the service professional, things work ok. Appreciate the safety precautions, mostly during breakfast, this puts a lot on backs of the hotel crew, their job is great, thank you. Parking ok, spa wellness is almost perfect.. I love games/play room with a terrace! The bed was comfortable enough for quality sleep and way big.. Practical bathroom, nice compliments, the balcony.. Good job, guys.

Been there last month and truly 5-star experiences. Service is top-notch. From cleaning lady to all hotel staffs. We got the room with lake view & it’s stunning!

Only one comment is that a driver who picked us up was not quite meet the hotel standard :/

Beautiful hotel with exceptional service and views. It felt so old world. We loved it.

We were there for a meeting and had a wine tasting event. Alexander, the Sommelier, taught us so much about the Slovak wines and the incredibly patient vintners. He really knew what he was talking about. We were quite impressed.

He chose some amazing wines for us to try. We had such a lovely evening. We even went to the store in our next town, Brno, and bought some of the wines we tasted.

We have only visited the restaurant for dinner and, I must admit, the quality, taste and look of the food was awesome. Plus wide selection of wines, attentive service and beautiful interior. Highly recommended slow dining place.

I really appreciate the professionalism of the staff even during the "time of covid 19". We felt safe in the hotel.
Very pleasant stay, very pleasant staff, always willing to help. Dinner at the restaurant is also a great experience. Excellent chef and even better confectioner. A hotel you like to stay and it will not depend on whether it's raining outside (though the nature and the surroundings very beautiful).

Excellent hotel. Staff is superb. Our room was so comfortable and had a nice view of the lake. Good food and the concierge gave us a lot of time in helping us tour the area. Beautiful place. They have a spa which we did not use but seemed quite popular.

Great but very expensive hotel suitable for people with the highest of expectations. If you want luxury, you won’t find a better place in Slovakia! Everything is perfectly arranged and prepared here; every detail is accounted for. They offer the best breakfast I’ve ever eaten. Of course, this comes at a price.
