It was a unique experience a beautiful mosque in the center of mountains. It was a big mosque all made by beautiful white marbles. The parking lot was big so there is no issue for car parking. There is also a park in front of mosque where you can have barbecue. It is a beautiful for visit in a nice sunny shiney day. There is a beautiful view from mosque.

Gorgeous mosque with grand design. The chandeliers, mimbar, carpets everything inside the mosque is spectacular and breathtaking.

Mosque is very clean but the surrounding requires maintenance as all the parks are not barren. Would have loved if all the fountains around the mosque were operational.

♿wheel chair accessible parking is there but by design, there is no wheel chair accessible path to the mosque as there are several staircases but no public elevator to reach mosque which is above ground level.

The Faysel Mosque is an architectural marvel that left a lasting impression on me. From its intricate design to its serene ambiance, every aspect of the mosque exudes beauty and tranquility. The grandeur of the mosque's exterior is matched only by the peaceful atmosphere inside, making it a truly remarkable place for reflection and worship. Additionally, the friendly staff and informative guides enhanced my experience, providing valuable insights into the mosque's history and significance. Overall, my visit to the Faysel Mosque was a memorable and enriching experience that I highly recommend to others.
I am a woman, and unlike other comments, I was allowed to enter the mosque wearing a headscarf without any issues, just like in all mosques.

Founded in 1987 under the patronage of the late King Faisal bin Abdulaziz of Saudi Arabia, this iconic contemporary mosque stands as a tribute to Islamic architecture, resembling the graceful folds of a Bedouin tent. Its unique design and grandeur captivate visitors, offering a breathtaking sight regardless of the time of day.

However, there's a noticeable shift in the mosque's purpose over time. While it remains a place of worship, there's an increasing emphasis on its role as a museum-like attraction rather than solely a space for prayer and religious congregation. This transition might disappoint those seeking a more traditional mosque experience centered around prayers and spiritual devotion.

Faisal masjid is located in between sector E-8 and E-7 islamabad. It is approximately at a drive of 45 mins from Islamabad motorway interchange and 10 mins drive from Zero point. It is usually crowded on weekends. Mosque is very big and beautiful, surrounded by gardens. There are multiple parking lots. Car parking is free. Zia ul haq's grave is at the south side of the mosque. There are few tuck shops near the parking. Toilets are at the entrance of mosque. A big Ablution area is inside the mosque. The indoor main hall only opens at the time of namaz.

Modernity meet spirituality. The architecture is awesome while the locals congregate for spiritual and also material gains (there are some traders selling their wares around the compund)... When we go to the main hall it was locked because of memorizing Quran classes inside the main hall.. We went to the souvenirs shop and buy some memoribilia for us to take home to Malaysia.. Beutiful mosque and also locals🥰🥰😘....

I visited there with my friend for Jumma Namaz.🕌 The Faisal Masjid is the largest in Pakistan even the largest in South Asia. It was the largest mosque in the world from 1986 until 1993. Completed in 1986, it was designed by Turkish architect Vedat Dalokay to be shaped like a desert Bedouin's tent. It is situated at the foot of Margalla Hills. the National Mosque of Pakistan named after the late King Faisal bin Abdul-Aziz of Saudi Arabia, who supported and financed the project.

My nighttime visit to Faisal Mosque in Islamabad left me in awe of its breathtaking architecture. The sheer magnificence of the structure illuminated against the night sky was a sight to behold. As I entered the mosque, my attention was immediately drawn to the beautiful central Fanous, radiating a warm and enchanting glow that added a mystical ambiance to the hall.

Inside, the beauty continued with intricately written Qurans, contributing to the spiritual atmosphere of the mosque. The availability of numerous copies of the Quran for reading reflected the mosque's commitment to providing a serene space for prayer and reflection.

One notable feature was the expansive parking area, indicating thoughtful planning for the convenience of the mosque's visitors. However, despite the positive aspects of my visit, an unfortunate incident occurred that dampened the experience. My shoes were stolen, serving as a reminder for visitors to exercise caution and be mindful of their belongings.

Despite this setback, the overall impression of Faisal Mosque was overwhelmingly positive. Its architectural grandeur, coupled with the serene environment and the availability of religious literature, made it a memorable visit. While the incident with the stolen shoes was regrettable, it serves as a reminder for future visitors to remain vigilant and take precautions to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience at this iconic mosque.
